We still have some places left on our guided walk on October 10th along Haymarket and Belgrave Gate.

Hear about the many showbusiness stars who frequented the theatres along this route, the goings on at some of the pubs, a 'pirate' and much more.

You won't be disappointed!

Over the past week the society has provided two guided walks around Leicester for the national Heritage Open Days event providing an informative and at times a humorous insight into our great city.

Our first walk on Wednesday was along Wharf Street leading onto Britannia Street and attracted a magnificent attendance of 34 people. Our second well attended walk on Saturday took in High Street, Silver Street and The Lanes.

Our thanks to all those who attended.
If these walks have whetted your appetite why not join us for our next guided walk along Haymarket and onto Belgrave Gate.

You're sure to hear and laugh about something we suspect you didn't know!

Book your place below - we’d love to see you there:

Our latest guided walk was at Welford Road Cemetery last Saturday and featured people buried there who contributed to improvements in the health and wellbeing of Leicester and far beyond.
We heard about Leicester's first female doctor Mary Royce and the Royce Institute that ran for over 140 years, Arthur Groves who co-founded the Leicester Guild of the Physically Handicapped which still continues to this day as Mosaic 1898, and John Douglas Swales who guided his department at the University of Leicester Medical School to be internationally recognised for its work on hypertension (high blood pressure).
Visiting the cemetery is in no way a morbid thing to do, but a chance to learn much more about Leicester's Great and the Good.

Our next two FREE guided walls are being run as part of Heritage Open Days during September and take in High Street and The Leicester Lanes, and Wharf Street.
Why not book your place here and learn more about your City? Please see details below:
