✨A great family day out for all! 🚴‍♀️

This Sunday 💚

We are really looking forward to this Sunday's Saffron Lane stadium event! We hope you can join us. It's been inspired by Jasmine a very brave 8 year old and her 9 year old brother Charlie. Jasmine is being supported by Rainbows Hospice and her family want to give back to the community and organisations that have made a difference to them ♥️
The scouts and the Aylestone community are supporting the event. 36 children will take part in a sponsored 100 lap around the stadium!
We will also have
🏹 Have a go Archery!
🎨 Face painting, glitter tattoo, & jewellery making stalls
🍬 Sweets, donut & cake stalls
🪎 Raffle, tombola & much more!
Please use the front main entrance as the rear entrance will be closed. We will have a marquee in case of bad weather.

🌟 Do you have a teen aged 16–18 who is interested in a career in healthcare or medicine? 🌟

Get them to join us this summer at Hospice School, a unique and inspiring two day free course at the LOROS Centre for Excellence!

Whether they're considering a future as a doctor, nurse, physio or healthcare worker, this course offers hands-on experience, real-world insight, and the chance to learn from our amazing team here at LOROS.

Dates: Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th August 2026
Location: LOROS Hospice, Centre for Excellence
Cost: Absolutely FREE!

Over the two days, students will:
✅ Learn clinical and communication skills
✅Take part in interactive tasks
✅Explore leadership, self-care, and the vital role of palliative care
✅ Receive a certificate of completion – great for CV or university applications!

Here's what Matt, an A-Level student from Beauchamp City Sixth Form, had to say: “The skills we developed was the main thing that stood out for me. We learnt a lot about leadership and communication and I feel that is really important for me heading off to University and then going on to a job in healthcare as a pharmacist.”

“All the staff are really nice – I was a little bit nervous about coming in to the hospice environment but all of the staff make you feel really welcome and it felt comfortable very quickly. I would definitely recommend Hospice School to anyone of my age who is looking for a career in health care. It was amazing.”

🚴‍♀️✨ We’re taking on the 100 Lap Bike Ride for FONHA! ✨🚴‍♂️

Pupils of Netherhall Mead Academy alongside many children from the Leicester community are gearing up to ride 100 laps to raise funds for FONHA, 102nd Leicester (Aylestone, St Andrews) Scout Group, Granby Primary School & Leicester Wheels For All 🏁

This fantastic event has been kindly organised and hosted by a dedicated supporter of FONHA 💚💛

📣 Free Preparing for Adulthood Workshop (PFA) for Leicester City Residents!!!

Do you have a young person aged 14 or over?

Attend the workshop on March 9th 9.30-12.30 to hear about lived experiences from a parent carer and young person, connect with professionals who provide information on current and next steps across education, health, social care and employment to make a few, with a focus on building independence.

Access individual follow up conversation the following week, at a coffee morning. Time slots are available to book on Monday 9th March.

This is a fantastic way to kick off the New Year, get active and enjoy a fun day out with family and friends. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just fancy a gentle stroll or a catch up with colleagues everyone is welcome to support!

We now have a further ride at 1pm for the LOROS Elephant Ride on 10th August. We will ride as a group to see sculptures of elephants around the city!

We have spaces for wheelchair users to book, spaces for 2 person side by side bikes, and a few spaces for Rickshaws. These allow for passengers to be ridden around the elephant trail. Plus some more adaptive trikes are available.

It's a gentle 50-minute ride which families and carers can join in, with time for photos. You must book a place and adapted cycle with us. It's proving popular and places are limited, get in touch with us to find out more ([email protected]).
