It’s race day at the Leicester Half Marathon, and our four fantastic volunteers, Chris, Debz, Russ and Heather, are out there putting their legs to the test for two amazing charities!

This Sunday, four of our amazing volunteers are taking on the challenge of the Leicester Half Marathon!

Chris, Debz and Russ are running for Rainbows Children’s Hospice, a charity bringing colour, care and comfort to children and young people with life‑limiting conditions.

We're already setting up at Central Park for Syston Summer Fayre where we have our usual stall, serving hot food and drinks, along with a tasty selection of cakes!

You’ll find us to the left of the stage this year, so please come over, say hello and help support the group.

There’s even more to enjoy too - Syston Scout & Guide Band will be performing at 12pm, so make sure you’re there in time to hear them play!

It should be a brilliant community afternoon, and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible.

This weekend you can find us at the Stapleford Miniature Railway Open Weekend, where we’re raising money in support of LOROS Hospice. 💛

Come along, enjoy the trains, and don’t forget to pop by and say hello to us – we’d love to see some friendly faces - we’re just next to the entrance, you won’t miss us! 👋

We’ve got Axe Throwing, pioneering and shelter building Challenges and some bits and pieces on our stall - as well as the 2026 Stapleford Badge!

A full 4‑night County Camp packed with adventure, teamwork, and non‑stop fun. This video shows just a slice of the wide range of activities our young people took on — and a huge well done to our Enterprise winners for their creativity and effort.

During today's Melton Mowbray & District’s St. George’s Day Parade and Church Service, one of our long-standing members, Alan Drage, was presented with his Chief Scout’s 50 Years of Service Award – an incredible milestone.

His contribution to Scouts spans many years, including his time as a Venture Scout Leader (now known as Network) and his continued involvement as a valued member of the Syston Scout & Guide Band. His dedication, leadership, and commitment have made a lasting impact on generations of young people and on our Scout Group as a whole.

We are extremely proud to see this achievement recognised and extend our sincere congratulations on this remarkable milestone.

Thank you for 50 years of exceptional service to Scouts. 👏
