Planet Mercy is an innovative and productive non-profit organisation which has one simple goal- to serve humanity and build community relations through concepts of love, mercy, tolerance and cohesion. Planet Mercy aims to educate, offer solutions and guide people and also provide a friendly atmosphere for personal and community development. An ethos we endorse wholeheartedly is that of community c

ohesion by focusing on a range of projects throughout the community with the aim of making positive contributions to all and sundry. The organisation started its grassroots work in 2008 in the North (Oldham, Rochdale and Bradford), where monthly food kitchens were arranged to feed the homeless, destitute and refugees. This further branched out into family fun days for local people, community workshops including, monthly dinners and entertainment programmes to help build the bridge between communities. Planet Mercy also delivers on educational programmes such as parenting, domestic violence, child trafficking and much more. We work in collaboration with a number of other organisations, including the Oldham Baptist Church, Oldham Unity, Big Issue, British Red Cross, MYMN (Meet Your Muslim Neighbour), Trussells Trust Foodbank and numerous local groups. Planet Mercy is managed by a dynamic team of volunteers from different backgrounds spread across various parts of the UK. At present, we have a broad range of projects running in Glasgow, Oldham, Rochdale, Bradford, Peterborough, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and London.

Our Hot Meal Soup Kitchen provides free, freshly prepared meals to individuals and families facing financial hardship. We offer a warm, welcoming environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Whether you're struggling with the rising cost of living, experiencing temporary difficulties, or simply need a helping hand, our doors are open to you.

Each meal is wholesome, and served by caring volunteers dedicated to supporting our community. Beyond food, we provide a place of comfort, friendship, and hope, helping people connect with local support services and resources when needed.

Alhamdulillah, we have reached the blessed 27th night of Ramadan, one of the most sacred nights in which many seek Laylatul Qadr, a night better than a thousand months. ✨

Sadaqah-tul-Fitr / Fitrana 2026

Sadaqah-tul-Fitr (Fitrana) is a form of charity that should be given before Eid. It helps purify our fasting and allows under-privileged families to also celebrate Eid.

Once again, Madina Mercy will be distributing Sadaqah-tul-Fitr in the UK to families who are already on our support list.
