Planet Mercy is an innovative and productive non-profit organisation which has one simple goal- to serve humanity and build community relations through concepts of love, mercy, tolerance and cohesion. Planet Mercy aims to educate, offer solutions and guide people and also provide a friendly atmosphere for personal and community development. An ethos we endorse wholeheartedly is that of community c

ohesion by focusing on a range of projects throughout the community with the aim of making positive contributions to all and sundry. The organisation started its grassroots work in 2008 in the North (Oldham, Rochdale and Bradford), where monthly food kitchens were arranged to feed the homeless, destitute and refugees. This further branched out into family fun days for local people, community workshops including, monthly dinners and entertainment programmes to help build the bridge between communities. Planet Mercy also delivers on educational programmes such as parenting, domestic violence, child trafficking and much more. We work in collaboration with a number of other organisations, including the Oldham Baptist Church, Oldham Unity, Big Issue, British Red Cross, MYMN (Meet Your Muslim Neighbour), Trussells Trust Foodbank and numerous local groups. Planet Mercy is managed by a dynamic team of volunteers from different backgrounds spread across various parts of the UK. At present, we have a broad range of projects running in Glasgow, Oldham, Rochdale, Bradford, Peterborough, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and London.

Journey to Inner Balance – Holistic Wellbeing Workshop

On Saturday 11th July, Madina Mercy, in association with Madina Institute and Pure Soul, hosted Journey to Inner Balance – a free one-hour introductory workshop on Holistic Wellbeing through Somatic Healing.

The workshop was delivered by Robina Siddiqui, a qualified Somatic Healing practitioner with many years of experience, and was designed to support our community's mental health and emotional wellbeing—an area that has become increasingly important in the years following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The session was attended to full capacity, with 25 participants taking part. Attendees were introduced to the powerful connection between the mind, body, emotions, and daily habits, while also learning practical techniques to help manage stress, improve physical wellbeing, and develop greater inner balance. The overall aim was to equip individuals with simple yet effective tools to help them feel better within themselves, live more balanced lives, and function positively in their daily lives.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and shared their valuable feedback. Your comments will help us continue to improve and develop future workshops and community initiatives.

Please keep an eye out for upcoming sessions covering a variety of wellbeing topics, all designed to support the diverse needs of our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Robina Siddiqui of Pure Soul, as well as all of our dedicated Madina volunteers, whose hard work and commitment made this event possible.

Day 5 – Live Mercy | Give Water Campaign

Total Water Bottles Distributed: 7,048

Our team was out once again distributing water bottles to the public as part of our "Live Mercy, Give Water Campaign" in honour and memory of the Martyrs of Karbala.

The team was welcomed with huge smiles, heartfelt appreciation, and personal reflections from members of the public—one of which is captured in the accompanying video. Moments like these are truly heartwarming and uplifting for our volunteers.

At times like these, it is more important than ever that we become a ray of light and hope, allowing our shared humanity to speak louder than our differences.

We are deeply grateful to every volunteer who has spent days in the scorching heat, simply striving to live mercy, spread love, and bring a little comfort to travellers and passers-by through the source of life—water.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to everyone who joined this caravan by donating towards the water distribution. Your generosity, belief in this initiative, and continued support have made this work possible.

Together, we continue to live mercy—one bottle of water, one act of kindness, and one smile at a time.
