🕯️☕ Our Tea Cup Candle Session ☕🕯️

We’ve had a wonderfully creative and busy morning making beautiful soy wax candles! Our clients thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this different and hands-on activity, choosing from a variety of colours and fragrances to create their own unique candle designs.

The session was filled with creativity, laughter, and plenty of fantastic conversations as everyone carefully mixed, poured, and decorated their candles. The finished results were absolutely stunning, with each candle set beautifully inside little tea cups, making them look extra special and ready to brighten up any home.

It was fantastic to see everyone expressing their creativity, trying something new, and taking pride in their finished creations. Activities like these are a great way to build confidence, encourage social interaction, and have lots of fun at the same time.

Judging by the smiles and positive feedback, this was a huge success, and we’re excited to make tea cup candle making a regular part of our indoor activity programme in the future!

Bank Holidays are officially done and dusted… which means we’re back to our normal 5-day weeks and full steam ahead! ☀️🎉

The energy this week has been amazing, with our clients jumping straight back into their sessions, smiling, laughing, learning new skills, and making memories together. 💙

We’ve got so much to look forward to over the coming months, with plenty of summer fun, activities, trips, and special moments already in the works! 🌴🍦🌞

At VALUES, we believe that all behaviour is communication — and every individual deserves to be listened to, understood, and supported with dignity. 💙

That’s why we use Positive Behaviour Support in a meaningful and person-centred way. Rather than focusing on “rewards” in a childish sense, we celebrate achievements, progress, confidence, independence, kindness, and personal goals through certificates and medals that are chosen by the individuals themselves.

Every support plan is created alongside the people we support. Together, we discuss what success looks like for them, what motivates them, and how they would like their achievements recognised. For some, that might be a certificate celebrating a new skill. For others, a medal may represent overcoming anxiety, building friendships, improving communication, or reaching a personal milestone.

Recognition matters at every age. Adults with learning disabilities deserve opportunities to feel proud of themselves, to be celebrated, and to have their efforts acknowledged in ways that are meaningful to them.

Positive support is not about control — it’s about understanding, encouragement, trust, and helping people thrive in ways that work for them. 🌟
