As a part of National Numeracy’s campaign to help people to better understand their number skills, this month is Checktember!

This initiative is to encourage people to think more about their numeracy and to help provide them with tailored resources to help them in the areas they might like to improve on, through the National Numeracy Challenge. This has been a great tool for us when working with learners to help show them some of the areas they might benefit from some support with, as well as being able to help them understand how improving their numeracy may help them in their everyday lives.

To help encourage people to take part, the County Council;s Multiply Programme have also got a prize draw running for the month of September, where anyone who follows the link on the poster above will be entered for the chance to win £25 in high street vouchers. Entrants must be over 19 to enter and complete a new “quick check” on the National Numeracy Challenge following the link below. We hope that this will encourage people to think about how they can improve their understanding.
