Hello there. Just lately our Cattery has seen a surge in un-neutered cats being surrendered or brought in because they have been abandoned or found straying. This includes dear Arizona who is pregnant at just 5 months old. We neuter cats and dogs, or provide neutering vouchers for those that go home before neutering can be arranged. But the message about responsible cat neutering, in particular, seems not to be hitting home. 🐶 One week to go! 🐶

We have stalls, have a go dog agility, refreshments, full bar, ice cream van, a special parade for former L.A.A. dogs and our fun dog show.

🐶A lovely 'pupdate' from Stevie. 🥰

It's been around five months since Stevie (known as Enid at the Centre) waved goodbye to her friends at L.A.A. to begin a new chapter in her life with her amazing adopters.

She has enjoyed her first holiday to the Isle of Wight and loved it, although she prefers cooling down in rivers and lakes as she's not a fan of waves! Her idea of a good 'walk' is a trot to the park where she then sits on a bench and watches the world go by! She also isn't a morning dog and pretends to be fast asleep if it's too early for a walk.

Her new fur parents say she is so playful and funny and is a fabulous dog, we couldn't agree more. Everyone at L.A.A. is so happy that this cheese-obsessed, squeaky toy lover has the loving home that she truly deserves. 🥰

Our nursery is full of cute bundles of fluff again, and after such a busy summer, we're running low on kitten food.

Not long to wait until Leicester Animal Aid's Family Fun Afternoon & Dog Show! 🐶

🗓 Sunday 30th August, 12pm to 4pm
📍Huncote Sports & Social Club, LE9 7TF
It's £2 for adults to enter, children and dogs are free and there is free parking on site. Card payment facilities are limited so please bring cash.

Attractions include:
Fun dog agility course, hook a duck, face painting, craft stalls, toy stall, pet-related stalls, Lucky bottle tombola, Hamper raffle, tombola, spin the wheel game, ice cream van, full bar inside the club house, refreshments including cobs and cakes.

Fun Dog Show
There will be a special Junior Handler round at 12.45pm. All children will receive a rosette for taking part. Entry is £1.

Registration opens from 12pm until just before your class begins Entry is £2.50 per dog, per class. All friendly dogs are welcome, whether they’re pedigree or crossbreed, small or large, pup or senior, or somewhere in between. Trophy and rosette for 1st place and rosettes for 2nd & 3rd place.
Main show starts at 1pm as follows:
1. Golden Oldie (8+), 2. Best Youngster (3 and under), 3. Best Rescue, 4. Waggiest Tail, 5. Best Male, 6. Best Female, 7. All Comers (open to any dog).

Former L.A.A. residents' Doggy Reunion
If you adopted your dog from us, we'd love to invite you and your four-legged friend to join us in the dog show ring at 12.15pm for a doggy reunion parade. You'll get a special rosette too! No need to register just head to the dog show ring.

Billy had been living as a stray, let's help to find him the home he deserves 🐱🥰

This lovely two-year-old is finding it difficult adapting to Cattery life; he just needs a loving home where he can have more space and humans to help keep him busy.

Billy is a sweet boy but does like to do his own thing. He could live with older children who have been around cats before and would give him space when needed. He will need to be the only pet as he's not a fan of other cats.
