In between calls, our team is always busy doing something.
It could be checking local defibrillators, carrying out kit checks and restocking or like this evening, washing the car.

Please keep hydrated in this heat!💦
If possible try to stay out of the sun during the hottest hours of the day. These are typically between 11:00 - 15:00☀️

A red heat-health alert has been issued across parts of England until 25 June. This is the highest level of alert and indicates a risk to everyone's health, not just vulnerable groups.

It has been a busy shift for Leicester CFRs Matt and Zara who were faced with five emergency calls whilst on duty. Some evenings can be hectic! If you spot us out on the Leicester roads, say hi 👋

Call 999 for life threatening situations and 111 for anything urgent. You can also speak to your GP or pharmacist before ringing for an ambulance which can reduce wait times 💚

Be safe!

Most of Leicester CFRs work during the day, leaving only evenings and nights available for booking on duty and responding to emergency calls. That's the life for many volunteers. What incredible work, dedication and commitment!

Stay safe out there and remember to call 999 in an emergency and 111 for non life threatening situations 💙

With warm weather forecast this weekend and into next week, more of us will enjoy spending time in, on, or around water, so it’s important to stay safe.

Almost half (47%) of UK accidental drownings happen between May and August, with higher risks during warmer weather.

Keep yourself and your family safe:
• Check for hazards, including depth, currents, tides, and hidden underwater objects.
• Stay together and swim in lifeguarded areas.

In an emergency:
• Call 999 immediately
• If you fall in or become tired, stay calm, float on your back, and call for help
