URGENT: Leicester Parents of Disabled Young People – ACT NOW!

The Council is about to approve devastating cuts to school transport for SEND young people aged 16+.

From September 2025, ALL school taxis and buses will be cut – unless your household earns less than £7,400 a year. That’s only 1 in 10 families who will still get help.

This will leave vulnerable young people stranded, isolated, and excluded from education.

The final decision will be made at the Council meeting on 15th May – this is our LAST CHANCE to stop it.

🚨 **URGENT: Leicester City Council, STOP TOYING WITH OUR FUTURE!** 🚨

Leicester City Council continues to play "Will We-Won't We" with essential services for disabled young people, and it's NOT OK! 😡

Just **8 weeks** before the legal deadline to publish the school transport policy—impacting young people starting college in only **5 months**—officials are STILL saying they’re “developing” the policy. That's a whole lot of uncertainty! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

**Our disabled young people deserve security!** They need to know they will be able to travel to their college placements in September, placements **already agreed** by the council! 📚

The anxiety, stress, and doubt is unbearable, and it’s affecting their future.

💥 **We demand certainty! We demand school/college transport to be GUARANTEED for September NOW!** 💥

🚨 **Outrageous! Leicester City Mayor Defends £5.5 Million Road Spend While Disabled Young People Are Denied Essential Transport!** 🚨

The Mayor of Leicester has justified a £5.5 MILLION spend on improving a single road to “make a good impression” on visitors. Meanwhile, senior officials are telling parents of disabled young people aged 16+ there’s “no money” for crucial transport to school.

🤯 Where are the priorities? A flashy road or the well-being of our most vulnerable?

This is a slap in the face to families who rely on support to get their children to school. It's time to demand better accountability and fairness in our city.
