Well, yesterday didn’t quite go the way we hoped, but we still put the miles in and gave it everything we had.

Sometimes things don’t go to plan, and with conditions the way they were, we had to accept defeat to the weather. As always, the safety of the team comes first.

Big thanks to Safe Lift Scaffolding for providing the clothing that kept us warm and dry, and for the constant support throughout.

Another massive thank you to Science in Sport for supplying the team with gels, snack bars, and powders to keep our energy levels up throughout the challenge.

And finally, a special thank you to the team, making the four-hour journey and pushing through to raise money for a charity close to our hearts and for the young people of Leicester.

We go again next time.

New Parks Adventure Playground

A strong start from the team as we pushed up towards the first peak. Spirits were high, but once we reached it, the weather took a serious turn for the worse, extreme winds and hail, as you can see from the video.

After speaking with mountain rescue, we were advised not to continue as conditions were only set to get worse. Following a team discussion, we made the tough decision to turn back. We love a challenge, but sometimes you have to respect the mountain.

Although we didn’t conquer the peaks this time, we weren’t ready to call it a day. Instead, we took the long route back to the cottage, turning it into a 17-mile day with a 10-mile walk out over multiple peaks on the way back.

Not the result we wanted, but still a solid effort and a reminder that safety always comes first. 💪🌧️

A solid team walk this morning and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone’s effort! 💪🏼

We’d like to say a massive thank you to Safe Lift Scaffolding for generously providing this year’s T-shirts, hoodies, and coats for the team. Normally, the team members cover these costs out of their own pockets, but for this challenge, Safe Lift Scaffolding, a Leicester-based company with a personal connection to New Parks Adventure Playground from growing up in the area, wanted to step in and support where they could. We’re incredibly grateful for their backing.

Today’s terrain was great practice for what’s ahead. Mud, water, and some seriously steep inclines! We had a few slips and near falls, but we got back up, dug deep, and kept pushing forward. That’s what this challenge is all about. ⛰️

We’re now only a few weeks away from our 10 Peak Challenge, and your support would mean the world, not just to us, but to New Parks Adventure Playground and the young people it supports.

Great training walk completed this morning for Team Lodgers💪🏼

This is all in preparation for our upcoming challenge in March - The Lake District 10 Peak Challenge, a 17 mile rough and steep terrain walk up some of the highest mountains in England.

This will be no easy task. Six of the ten peaks are among the tallest mountains in England, including Scafell Pike, the highest of them all. But the team is determined and fully committed to getting it done.

We’re taking on this challenge to support the incredible charity New Parks Adventure Playground, helping keep it open and providing a safe, positive space for children, keeping them off the streets and in an environment where they can thrive.
