‘Cycles and Suffragettes’ hosted events in 2011 and 2012 to raise awareness of the link between cycling and the emancipation of women - and to have a fun cycling event. The events encouraged wearing period costume and included a blue plaque ride pointing out places where Leicesters suffragettes have been celebrated, a flash mob which included a rousing speech by Julia Wood in the manner of a suffr

agette and followed by films and talks including a talk by the grandson of Alice Hawkins, our most eminent suffragette.

Take a break from the hustle and join us for a refreshing ride to the stunning Green Circle Nature Regeneration. This ride is all about connecting with nature and enjoying the scenic beauty along the River Soar.
