Menphys was founded in 1969 to support children and young people with disabilities and their families – our work is just as necessary and important today. Menphys provides a range of services, some of them in partnership with Leicestershire County Council. The Menphys Special Outreach Service supports children and young people aged 0 – 19 and their families. Supports Saturday clubs offering a wide

range of sport and leisure activities

MENPHYS NEEDS TO RAISE £500,000 EACH YEAR TO MAINTAIN AND DEVELOP THIS WORK.

✨ It's Volunteer Week, a week to celebrate all of our amazing volunteers who continue to support us! ✨

We want to say a massive thank you to every single one of our volunteers for their dedication, kindness, and hard work!

The hours they dedicate are truly recognised and greatly appreciated. This week we want to celebrate all the hard work all our volunteers do. Without them we wouldn't be able to continue the work we do in supporting disabled children, young adults, and their families across Leicestershire ❤

If you would love to be part of this team and make a real impact on a disabled child's life, we have some fantastic opportunities available. We have a wide range of community events this summer and are looking for volunteers. Whether you can spare a full day or just a couple of hours, every bit of support makes a huge difference and helps us continue making a positive impact on the lives of disabled children and young people.

What a fantastic afternoon we had at our Animal Day with Animal Club! 🐍🐢🦎

We had such a wonderful time learning all about the amazing animals who came to visit us for the day. Everyone was so interested to find out more about them, and there were plenty of brave moments too!

Even though some of us felt a little nervous at times, everyone got stuck in and had a go at holding and meeting the different animals. It was lovely to see so many smiles, so much curiosity and lots of proud faces throughout the afternoon.

We absolutely loved it and hope all the families who joined us did too!

What a fantastic time we had at our Double Sensory Day!

It was lovely to welcome so many new faces who came along, joined in the fun and enjoyed spending time with us. Everyone had a brilliant time exploring the new sensory garden, getting involved, making memories and sharing lots of smiles and laughter.

There was such a happy atmosphere across both sessions, with children, young people and families enjoying the chance to play, relax, connect and try something new. And of course, with the warm weather, there were plenty of ice lollies being enjoyed by everyone too! 🍦

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our Sensory Days so special. We loved seeing so much fun, friendship and joy, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming you again soon. 💛

We are looking for a volunteer to support our coffee shop team at The Menphys Hub on Tuesdays. This is an exciting and rewarding fast-paced role, helping to serve customers, prepare food and drinks, and support the day-to-day running of the café.

Experience is preferred but not essential. Hours are to be confirmed, with the opportunity for this to be a term-time only role.

✨Last night we had our quiz night hosted at Everards and what a wonderful evening it was✨

We want to say a huge thank you to Tom Flynn at Everards for organising this amazing opportunity for us, and to the rest of the team for making the night so special☺

It was so lovely to get out into the community and talk about the work we do supporting disabled children, young adults, and their families at Menphys. We met so many new people who loved hearing about the work we do, and it was also wonderful to see some familiar Friends of Menphys faces too — thank you all for attending❤

Another big thank you to Amy Orton, one of our Trustees, for supporting us throughout the evening🫶

Yesterday we had a lovely community day within Asda Oadby!
