Description
Some Pings! never change - Leicester city’s passion for a game of Ping-Pong! One of the highlights of every summer is when Ping! fever grips the city.

60+ table tennis tables are placed across the city centre and around key communities which has attracted over 230,000 people since 2012 to play a game of Ping! This passion for Ping! has not gone unnoticed as Leicester has again been

invited to be one of the UK cities to benefit from a £10,000 grant in 2014 to bring back some Pings! to do for local people during the summer of 2014. Leicester III, let battle commence!! All the tables from last year’s event have since remained in the city for local groups, schools and outdoor venues to use and attract people to have a game. Marked ‘Stop and Play’, the tables are for all to enjoy and for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy a game of ping pong. To kick off and celebrate the return of Ping! a series of Ping Pong stop and play events will take place from the end of June at the Braunstone Carnival, Night of Festivals, Highcross Shop-Ping! Centre and of course again at this year’s Sport Fest event as part of the City Mayor’s Summer in the City Festival taking place in the city centre during the August Bank Holiday weekend.
