Members recently enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea river cruise along the River Trent, taking in the beautiful scenery and local landmarks while enjoying a delicious afternoon tea together.

It was a fantastic afternoon filled with great company, conversation and plenty of smiles. 💙

What a wonderful afternoon at Gloucester House in Melton! ☕🍰💃

Our Afternoon Tea brought people together for delicious sandwiches, homemade cakes and fantastic entertainment from Velvet Souls, who had everyone dancing the afternoon away.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, including our sponsor Jason Berry from Cabe Engineering, the event raised an amazing £1,585.59!

Every penny will help us continue supporting older people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to stay active, connected and independent.

We’re looking for reliable and friendly gardeners to support older people across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland by helping them maintain and enjoy their gardens 🌼

📍 Areas include Coalville, Shepshed and LE4/LE5

🌿 What we’re looking for:
✔️ Gardening experience and good plant knowledge
✔️ A patient, respectful and trustworthy manner
✔️ Reliability and excellent timekeeping
✔️ The ability to work independently
✔️ An awareness of health & safety
✔️ A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at The Bradbury Centre for our Carers Week event 💙

It was wonderful to see so many carers taking some time for themselves, enjoying a chat over tea and cupcakes, connecting with others, and finding out more about the support available through the Leicester Carers Support Service 🧁☕

We're also grateful to Mohins Chemist for providing free blood pressure checks and giving health advice throughout the day 🩺

While Carers Week may be coming to an end, our support for carers continues all year round.

The Bradbury Centre is open Monday to Wednesday,
9.30am–3.30pm, and when the centre is closed, carers can still access one-to-one support from our Carers Support Office at Clarence House.
