Adapt - extra special babies, extra special support The charity ADAPT provides support for families with premature and poorly babies on Leicester's Neonatal Units.

We are a small local charity with no government funding and rely purely on people generousity and hard work to continue our valuable work. ADAPT is a small charity who provide support to families with premature and poorly babies on the neonatal units at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital and after they have gone home. Having a premature or poorly baby can happen to anyone and because everything occurs so quickly and usually unexpectedly, it can leave you feeling upset, confused, scared and vulnerable.

We have support workers who visit the Neonatal Units at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital. They are there to support you in any way they can whether it be just a friendly face to talk to or help with more practical and financial issues. As our support workers are part time you may miss them but do not hesitate to call or email and someone will get back to you.

We are absolutely delighted to receive an amazing donation of £7,000 from JOS Structures in Birmingham after their very successful Golf Day at Shirley Golf Club. Thanks to the generosity of their customers and suppliers, they raised a staggering £21,000 split between 3 worthy causes one being ADAPT Prembabies.

A huge thankyou must be given to Alex Romankiw (our Management Team member Sallys husband) for putting ADAPT forward as one of the chosen charities.

This amount will make a huge difference to us and we really can’t thank Alex, JOS Structure and all their customer and suppliers for their kindness and support.

Are you the parent of a baby or child less than 10 years old who was born at 34-38 weeks of pregnancy?

Would you be prepared to fill in a survey on what you were told about birth at this stage? They are hoping to discover what parents have been told about birth at this stage of pregnancy around the time of their child's birth, with a view to improving how information is given to parents.

Thank you to everyone who came and helped out or visited us at the Leicester Motor Fest at Leicester Airport this weekend especially Mia Nixon and Reevah Brakes.

Unfortunately our next event which was the Bradgate Park Walk scheduled for the Bank Holiday Sunday Morning has had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. Hopefully we will rearrange this for later in the year when hopefully more families can join us and take part.
