Adapt - extra special babies, extra special support The charity ADAPT provides support for families with premature and poorly babies on Leicester's Neonatal Units.

We are a small local charity with no government funding and rely purely on people generousity and hard work to continue our valuable work. ADAPT is a small charity who provide support to families with premature and poorly babies on the neonatal units at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital and after they have gone home. Having a premature or poorly baby can happen to anyone and

because everything occurs so quickly and usually unexpectedly, it can leave you feeling upset, confused, scared and vulnerable.

We have support workers who visit the Neonatal Units at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital. They are there to support you in any way they can whether it be just a friendly face to talk to or help with more practical and financial issues. As our support workers are part time you may miss them but do not hesitate to call or email and someone will get back to you.

Adapt will be at this fabulous event on 22nd and 23rd August, raising much needed funds to ensure we continue our unique support of families on Leicester's neo natal units. We will be doing a Teddy Tombola and a children's Lucky Dip and have toys for sale. To make this a really successful event for us we need volunteers please, especially on the Saturday. Tonight at our monthly management meeting we held the draw for next years London marathon - two runners for Saturday and Sunday and one reserve for each day

Congratulations go to Jon Smith and Kishan Patel drawn to run Saturday and to Daniel McNamara and Chris Bryan’s drawn to run Sunday - Saturday Reserve is Joe Stephen’s and Megan Goddard first reserve for the Sunday event
