If you're looking to do some birdwatching in the late-summer, our hides at Rutland Water can be reached by two wonderfully scenic trails from Lyndon Visitor Centre.

Should you need to use a mobility scooter, one of trails has been recently upgraded to accomodate, and we even offer two to-hire all-terrain mobility scooters!

You can hire your scooter by calling the Lyndon Vistor Centre ahead of your visit: 01572 737378

Thank you to Augean and the King's Cliffe and Thornhaugh Environmental Associations for a grant through the Augean Community Fund working with Grantscape, that enabled us to acquire these mobility scooters.

It's been a busy season over at Rutland Water🪺
We have had exciting confirmation by Osprey Leadership Foundation founder, Tim Mackrill, on this seasons' Osprey ringings!

There have been 24 chicks across 12 nests (14 males and 10 females), who have now all fledged successfully!

We had rather un-ewe-sual visitors attempting to birdwatch from one of the hides🐑Unfortunately they hadn't paid for permits and had to be evicted.

Don't follow the herd, be sure you pick up your permit when you visit Rutland Water Nature Reserve and enjoy!
