As the largest single Service membership and welfare organisation, we are currently unique in our area of operation. We are:

• The only member-led welfare charity that supports the RAF family.

• Incorporated as a company by Royal Charter, with HM The Queen as Patron. HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH The Prince of Wales have both served as President and Flt Lt HRH The Duke of Cambridge is a member of the Association. This helps us to establish our credibility and attracting key influencers.

• Registered as a charity in the UK .

• Providing friendship and support to full and associate members and the wider RAF family via our world-wide Branch and Area structure.

Our Finding it Tough (FIT) courses offer practical skills to help you manage pressure, navigate change, improve communication and build confidence in everyday life.

Get a glimpse of what it’s like to fly in an RAF Chinook helicopter at RAF Odiham! 🚁
This footage was captured during a private Families Day event.

The Chinook is capable of operating in diverse environments, from arctic and desert to jungle. Armed with self-defence systems, it primarily supports troop transport, resupply, and casualty evacuation, carrying up to 55 troops or 10 tonnes of cargo

✈️ NATO teamwork in action.

Captured during Exercise Ramstein Flag 2026, four Swedish Air Force Gripens receive fuel from an RAF Voyager aircraft from 10 and 101 Squadron, RAF Brize Norton. Throughout the exercise, Voyager crews flew more than 10 air-to-air refuelling sorties, supporting NATO partner aircraft across European airspace.

Bringing together 18 allied nations, more than 200 aircraft and over 20 operational bases, Ramstein Flag 2026 showcased the strength of collective defence and the ability of allied air forces to conduct complex operations together.
