🌿 **The Great Big Green Week 2026** 🌿

As part of The Great Big Green Week 2026, we were delighted to deliver a range of activities focused on sustainability, wellbeing, and climate action.

Our community came together to:
🚲 Take part in free cycle training sessions
🌱 Hold sustainable living workshops and explore ways we can all live greener lives
🌳 Enjoy nature walks to improve wellbeing and connect with the environment
♻️ Learn about the benefits of gardening and. composting, recycling, reusing, and upcycling
🌍 Discuss practical actions we can all take to address climate change and helping organisations and residents better understand their role in tackling climate change.

The conversations and ideas generated during the week are already creating positive change.

As a result, we are now working closely with the management team at the Peepul Centre to explore new ways of reducing waste, increasing recycling, and making the centre more sustainable.

We are also exploring collaborations with local universities to introduce Carbon Literacy Training for community centres and groups.

Together, small actions can make a big difference. Let's all think green, act green, and do our part to protect our planet for future generations. πŸ’š

It was wonderful to be presenting our latest project called Project Surya to some of our stakeholders and community partners at the Leicester University School of Business Brookfield campus.
The key message is connecting, collaboration and learning.
Thank you to all those who attended the presentation. We have re- launched our website Leicester Community Links.co.uk with a fresh new lookπŸ™‚

I was honoured to be invited to the King's Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of the community projects we are delivering to communities in Leicester, it was a great surprise.
This would not have been possible without the continued support from the LCL volunteers and the communities who benefit from our activities…and a big thank you to my nominee. Hundreds from across the country attended this very special occasion on a beautiful sunny day.

Very grateful.. thank you πŸ₯°

Supporting our physical health is one of our priority actions, and connecting to nature is what we know best.

We were fortunate to be able to visit the historic Coombe Abbey park near Coventry. Taking in the fresh air and appreciating nature and doing 16000 steps! The trip supported many of our members who feel lonely for various reasons but want to take positive steps to address their mental health. 🌻
