🌿🧹 GREEN ADVENTURES – MONTHLY BUSHCRAFT AT LOPC! 🌳🔥
What a brilliant time we had last weekend at our Green Adventures monthly bushcraft session! 💚
Our adventurers got creative and had a go at making their very own birch brooms! 🌿 There was plenty of laughter, hands-on learning and outdoor fun as everyone got stuck into traditional bushcraft skills.
These sessions are all about getting outside, learning new skills, connecting with nature and discovering what we can create using the natural materials around us. 🌳✨
It's amazing what a little imagination, teamwork and time outdoors can do!

A huge well done to everyone who joined us – we loved seeing you getting involved and embracing the adventure. 🙌

Last week, we were delighted to welcome volunteers from NEBOSH to Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre as part of their commitment to supporting local communities.

Taking to the water in canoes, the team joined us on the River Soar to help remove litter and make a positive difference to our local environment. It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm, teamwork and willingness to get involved, all while helping to protect and improve one of Leicester's most important natural spaces.

Partnerships like these demonstrate the power of businesses and charities working together to create cleaner, greener communities for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone from NEBOSH who gave up their time to support this initiative. Your efforts will have a lasting impact, and we thoroughly enjoyed having you with us.

We're incredibly proud to have represented Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre at the East Midlands Regional Finals of the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2026.

While we didn't take home the award this year, reaching the regional finals for the second year running is an achievement we're extremely proud of. Following our Highly Commended recognition last year, it was fantastic to once again be among so many organisations committed to developing apprenticeships and supporting future talent.

One of the highlights of the evening was hearing the inspiring stories of apprentices from across the region. The passion, dedication and achievements on display were a powerful reminder of the impact apprenticeships can have on individuals, employers and communities. Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners who are doing incredible work.

At LOPC, we're proud of the opportunities our apprenticeship programme creates, helping aspiring outdoor instructors gain qualifications, practical experience and a pathway into a rewarding career.

A huge thank you to Channel Training for their continued support in helping us deliver high-quality apprenticeship opportunities and develop the next generation of outdoor professionals.
