Our Health+ team recently delivered NHS App support sessions at Belgrave Neighbourhood Co-operative Housing Association BNCHA and Leicester Community Links CIC.

The sessions were a great success, with very positive feedback from attendees. It was encouraging to see community members actively learning how to use the NHS App to access primary care services more confidently and independently.

A big thank you to Taruna Mistry and Rupal Rajani for their support. Together, we are helping to improve digital health inclusion and access to healthcare within our communities.

Charity Link is a Leicester-based charity supporting people in financial hardship and crisis. It has a range of activities planned throughout 2026 to mark its 150th birthday.

To help us to bridge the digital divide, we’re calling on local businesses and the wider community to support our Refurb IT campaign by donating funds, devices or technical expertise.

One such supporter has been the Watches of Switzerland Group for their generous donation of 57 laptops - that's 57 good deeds for the environment and 57 lives transformed through digital access.

Claire Pegg, IT Support Specialist at the Watches of Switzerland Group said: “the Watches of Switzerland Group are proud to support the community by donating laptops. By giving these laptops a new home, we hope to help individuals get connected and access vital online services.”

A huge thank you to the team at the Watches of Switzerland Group based in Leicester for supporting digital inclusion and making a real difference.

We’re extending a warm welcome to Vibha Mistry who has joined Reaching People as our new Health+ Community Training Officer, supporting people with NHS App training and digital health support.

Vibha will help to deliver training sessions in GP surgeries, community centres and small group settings, assisting people to feel more confident using the NHS App and accessing online health services.

Local organisations are working together to support the national Year of Reading, focusing on making reading more visible and accessible in everyday life.

To support this initiative, Reaching People has introduced members to the national Year of Reading, with the National Literacy Trust outlining how local charity and VCSE partners can play a role.

Reaching People has been working on improving digital access to healthcare across Leicester through its Health+ project, delivering 108 NHS App training sessions during 2025/2026.

We're proud that the initiative has supported 786 individuals - including community members, patients and healthcare staff - helping them to better access primary care services by building confidence in using digital health tools such as the NHS App.

We’ve recently boosted our volunteer team by welcoming back Hammad Sethi.

Hammad worked for Reaching People as a Community Training Officer from 2020 until earlier this year when he left to live in the US to be closer to his family.

Hammad is now delivering online Health+ 1 on 1 and group sessions for the charity from his current base in Houston, Texas.
