What an amazing weekend at the Mela. So much to share. Aikyam UK were in full flow supporting South Asian Health Action and the NIHR BioResource on the D-CYPHR project.

It was HOT ☀️ It was FUN 🥳

And we had a secret weapon to keep us cool and hydrated. The thegiggleandfizz ladies kept our whole team refreshed over the weekend. Supplied us with Cherry, Raspberry, Passion, Strawberry, Blueberry and Dragon Fruit coolers.

If you see the Giggle amd Fizz truck anyhwere, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR THE BEST DRINKS come rain, shine, summer or wimter!!

SAHA is inviting you to an informative event, open to everyone in our community.

Date: Friday 31st October 11am to 1pm

Location: Shree Limbachia Hall, Claremont Street, LE4 7QH

EVENT DETAILS: This is a Community Cancer Connectors event and we will have guest speakers including Dr Olubukola Ayodele and Mala.

Dr Ayodele is a Consultant Medical Oncologist Breast Cancer Researcher. She will be sharing professional advice as well as lived experience.

Mala will also be sharing her lived experience and will be answering any questions you may have.

We will also have another guest speaker Hasina, who will be sharing her lived experience and answering questions.

It is really important we share this information and raise awareness within our communities as figures of those veing diagnosed continue to rise.

Please attend and bring family or a friend.

Part of this event is to recruit Cancer Connectors within our community.

This event is being held by SAHA, East Midlands Cancer Alliance and NHS.

This event will also be raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The event is to discuss the myths and taboos surrounding Cancer. These events are part of a 10 event program in which we will recruit Community Cancer Connectors who can help to support their communities and anyone facing the Cancer Journey.

A huge congratulations to Esha Kanji from Year 9, who has made it to the final stage of the national Translation Bee competition! 🎉

She’s headed to Cambridge to compete against top students from across the UK, including leading grammar and independent schools.

Esha truly embodied our core values, especially self-discipline and courage, in front of a large audience. We’re so proud of her achievement! 🌟
