One has to ask which planet India's political and military leaders inhabit? One also have to ask is India's Parliamentary constitution a sham. India adopted it as a the Rolls Royce of a system of governance in disregard of the realities of the challenges of governing India's squabbling and jealous people's. I have been clear for a long time that the Parliamentary system best fits a people who in the words of the a Greek visitor to ancient Rome saw in the Senate "a veritable assembly of kings". Many if not most of India's parliamentarians are venal and corrupt scoundrels with few of the qualities that make them fit to be put in charge of a country. Rahul Gandhi and his family which are the official opposition have loyalties (China, Pakistan etc) inimical to the interests of Bharat. But nonetheless, they have enjoyed security clearances. If they do not have them now, we should know if it has been taken away? Although, I think that such a system has been possible and in operation.
This takes me to the next point about loss of any aircrafts in Operation Sindoor. Any such losses known to the Government would have been shared with the Congress leader, Rahul Gandh. So the loss of 5 aircrafts claimed by him achieves credibility. Credibility has gained ground that one Rafale was lost due to a malfunction. If Rahul Gandi is spreading falsehood, it is a very serious matter and breach of Parliamentary privilage justifying his removal and punishment. Why is nothing being done?
If on the other hand, the Government or the military is hiding their culpability, punishment should be meted out where it is due by the court of public opinion. That should not wait. The Government's claim that Operation Sindoor is ongoing, now being claimed it is paused is facile.
Firstly, because Operation Sindoor is to root out terrorists. Taking down a few facilities not intending emasulate their terrorism capability, then giving them weeks to absent themselves cannot be a serious use of scarce military resources. It was intended to rescue the Government from discomforture for its political and intelligence failures. This would not deliver deterrence from future attacks.
Secondly, it is no secret that terrorist attacks carried out by Pakistanies are instruments of the Pakistan state. Killing any number of these actors does not address the fact that Pakistan state is the head of the snake.
India's claim that it was seeking to help Pakistan clear their country of them is delusional. Pakistan declined the off ramp offered to their DGMO. If there was any doubt, Pakistan instead launched a full frontal attack on India.
If news reports are to be believed, Pakistan was on the verge of total defeat. India refused to press home its advantage and obtain Pakistan's submission. Anyone with understanding of military conflicts knows full well that defensive policies and postures leads to inevitable defeat. The Indian military should know this. Operation Sindoor was not an insurgency the Indian military would have passed on to the Government for political only feasible solution. India could pay very dearly. The lessons of Gauris invasions leading to millennium long emasculation of Bharat has clearly not been learned.
If Operation Sindoor had been taken to its logical conclusion, President Trump would not be gloating at what he sees PM Modi as less the tough bastard he imagined him to be. That counts in Trump's world. This provided Trump with the short and direct route to the damaging rates that have been imposed on India. This is not to say that 25% was not going to land on India. Things like the digital tax on Google was too easily conceded. It should be pulled back. Trump disliked and irritated by India's lack of vision. India could have seized the opportunity to fix India's subsistence level farming in which most most of India's population is kept in poverty. The Government and leaders should be ashamed not to act to remedy this state of affairs.
I find less fault with Trump's wanting to export meat derived dairy products which could not be fixed as not vegiterean through a labelling. When pradads greased with meat have been passed by temples, it should not be an issue for India to die. Sixty percent of Indians consume meat. Indian trade is being sacrificed to a vegiterean obsessed minority which regardless has stunted the human resources of India.
Then for India to deny Trump the limelight to satisfy his vanity shows up India's foreign affairs establishment as not fit for purpose. It was asking for trouble from which India might not recover.
It should be clear to the Indian military that Indian governance and political institutions are in need of total overhaul. The Government's ruling out the F35 to meet India's need for its stealth aircraft will be a self inflicted would. Looking at Brazil's military standing in the way of their anti American President is an example India's military should follow. That might be the only way to stop Bharat falling off the precipice.
