Recently, our Art and Craft Group residents have been busy knitting to support our fellow Almshouse Charity, Framework Knitters, with the Knit for the Community initiative .

Started by the Framework Knitters Livery Company during the pandemic the knitters produce squares for blankets that are then distributed around Homeless and other support charities working with those in need across the country.

So far over 1100 blankets have been distributed through this worthy cause all thanks to knitters such as those from Wyggestons and Trinity Almshouses.

🌞 A Wonderful Day Out at Foxton Locks! 🚤🌿

Today, our residents enjoyed a fantastic day out to the beautiful Foxton Locks in Leicestershire! 💕

With the sun shining, we had the perfect weather to enjoy a lovely trip out. We stopped at the Foxton Locks Inn, where everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and a refreshing drink. 🍽️🥤

After lunch, we headed outside to enjoy a lovely ice cream 🍦 while watching the ducks swimming by 🦆 and the boats making their way through the locks. 🚤 What a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon!

A huge thank you to all our wonderful staff for making the day so special, and a very big thank you to Steve, our Age UK bus driver, for safely getting us there and back and helping to make it such a memorable day. 🚌❤️

It was a truly lovely day filled with sunshine, smiles, laughter and wonderful memories. ☀️😊

What a wonderful afternoon we had today with the fantastic Kerry Jean! 🎤🎶✨

Kerry brought so much energy, enthusiasm, and joy to our home with her amazing singing and lively performance. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed every moment, joining in with the singing, clapping, and dancing. 💃🕺👏❤️

It’s always so special to see our residents smiling, laughing, and making happy memories together. A heartfelt thank you to Kerry Jean for such a wonderful afternoon of entertainment – we look forward to welcoming you back again soon! 🌟😊

Our residents have been busy in Katie’s Cook Club today, creating some absolutely delicious and colourful fruit flans for this afternoon’s tea. 🍓🫐🥝

🌊☀️ What a fantastic Seaside Day we’ve had at Wyggestons! 🍦🎉

Today was filled with sunshine, smiles, laughter and lots of fun! We enjoyed a delicious hog roast, games, paddling pools, bingo, a tombola, Sammy Dean our wonderful singer and of course, a fabulous ice cream van! 🍦

We also had a wonderful selection of mocktails and cocktails to enjoy, and it was lovely to see the children joining in and having fun with our residents. 🥳👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

It really was a fun-filled day, and we loved seeing everyone enjoying themselves and making some wonderful memories together. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone at Wyggestons for all the hard work and effort that went into arranging such a fantastic day for our residents, families and friends. It was a truly wonderful day and one we won’t forget! 🌊☀️🍦💙

Congratulations to our lovely Tanya, who won our work sweepstake with Spain! 🇪🇸🏆

We had a bit of fun celebrating, but we definitely didn’t realise just how BIG the winning trophy balloon was… it was almost as big as Tanya! 😂🎈

There were lots of laughs and smiles all around, and Tanya also won some money to spend. 💷🥳
