Are you coming to Leicester this autumn? Have you ever wanted to sword-fight, poke people from a distance with a spear, or swing a massive axe? Or if combat isn't your thing, do you want to make your own clothes, cook medieval food, and learn how people lived 900 years ago?

If so, why not give medieval reenactment a try! Chevaliers are partnered with University of Leicester Reenactment Society to provide training, support, and friendly teaching from members with years of experience in the hobby.

Follow both of us on our socials for more information and to find out how and when you can come along and have a go.

Chevaliers go to ! Evesham is always such a great event, and 2026 was no exception. Evesham will always have a special place in Chevaliers' heart, as our first show as a group was in 2021; we've only gone from strength to strength from there!

Our combatants portrayed the retinue of Henry de Montfort, the eldest son of Simon (as shown in picture 4 by our group leader).

Off the battlefield, we shared a group lunch where everyone brought along some food and we had a family meal like the weird group that we are!

Bosworth is normally a bit too modern for us, but when Stronghold Reenactment was offered the chance to do our own show at the amazing Bosworth Battlefield site, we couldn't resist! We portrayed the turbulent year of 1066, with Stamford Bridge and Hastings (albeit on a smaller scale!). The public who came to see us were amazing and really engaged in what we did, and we all had a spectacular time.

A couple of videos from a very warm training session yesterday with

We worked on a fair amount of one on one combat techniques focussing on changing the point of attack and manipulation of an opponent's weapon or body position.

Chevaliers had a great time at last weekend! It's always such a fun site to be on, with the Saxon houses and brilliant little museum on site. Even despite the heat, we had some fantastic public visiting and we had some really interesting conversations about life in a village in 1067.

Looking forward to next year!

Chevaliers go to ! It's always a great show, and this year didn't disappoint. Thankfully the (in)famously variable May Day weather held out (at least during the day) and we had a great time portraying a medieval May Day festival.

We had lots of stuff going on, with cord-making, sewing a gambeson, paint-making, drawing and calligraphy being done within the group alongside bronzeworking, stone carving, and coin making from friends in other groups.

Finally, we did some maypole dancing, tug of war, and archery contests - don't ask the secretary how she did in that last one...

What a beautiful day in the Leicester sunshine! The Leicester Old Town festival was on yesterday, and we had such an amazing time. We spoke to lots of people, so many that our voices were starting to give up by the end of the day! Everyone was so engaged and enthusiastic, and we got asked some great questions about history and this hobby.

Massive thanks to for inviting us to take part - it was a great way for Chevaliers to kick off our 2026 season!
