In November 2017, our eldest son Krishan aged 21 died unexpectedly from a sudden cardiac arrest after surgery. Krishan has the most beautiful smile ever with the cutest dimples. Krishan was a smart, young fit man and was asymptomatic so coming to terms with his loss was difficult. In our grief journey we are learning to carry the joy alongside the sadness. Although my faith was heavily wounded aft
er losing Krish, I know the higher powers have carried me. I am forever grateful for all the love and kindness shared with us, by our dear family, our close friends, Krishan's friends and strangers, that were not afraid to come and sit with us in our darkest times! They kept the flame of hope and light burning for us. I am so grateful for all the people who gave us their strength to not give up. In his final year at university, Krish spoke passionately about wanting his first business to be one that would help families who have been through an adverse experience. After losing Krish, we witnessed exactly what his loss did to his brothers. It was heartbreaking and I am grateful to all who helped us. So much love and gratitude to family, friends and Krishan's friends who continue to be positive role models and mentors and patiently love the boys. The long walks, bike rides, playstation battles, and car rides all helped in getting them to where they are today. It is because of everyones love and kindness we are alive today and this is what inspired me to make Krishan's dream a reality. He designed the logo and shared some of his ideas. His thoughts and his love will now live on in everything we do. If I had to define Krishan in one word it would be KINDNESS! He touched so many hearts by just being Krish. His essence and who he is, still lives on in all who loved him and So is Krishan's hashtag! So what do we do? We provide an early intervention service to influence, empower and educate young people and their parents/carers to develop their resilience and their social and emotional intelligence. We support children who are suffering from anxiety, low confidence etc. To prevent low level, low risk mental health needs from escalating. We aim to raise awareness of mindfulness, the importance of healthy minds and wellbeing by collaborating with existing organisations. We provide a safe space where families can participate in a wide range of fun interactive workshops to develop their self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Help them have greater confidence and higher self-esteem to strive for healthy minds and healthy lives. We also offer Grief Awareness Workshops for businesses and schools to raise more awareness of how to support bereaved families. Our motto is simple, to share love and kindness!
To honour you Krishan, through this heartbreak, we will make a difference to as many families as we can. I will let your soul guide & lead me. You live on in my every breath! I know......
You Make My Heartbeat -Krishan Manek! Thank you God for blessing us with Krishan, he may have had a short life of 21 years but his essence, his love, light and kindness will live forever. Love wins!
