We're proud to support our Children's Physiotherapy Service with the help of the fantastic Starlight Children's Foundation - UK.

Thanks to their generous donation of a Nintendo Switch, games and accessories, children and young people aged 0-18 can use gaming as part of their therapy sessions. Gaming provides a fun and engaging way to develop fine and gross motor skills, helping to enhance the therapy experience for the children and families we support.

A huge thank you to the Starlight Foundation for their continued support of our services. 💙

🌟Yesterday, the Raising Health team was delighted to join the REACH Staff Network in celebrating South Asian Heritage Month.🌟

What a wonderful occasion the Long Service Awards were yesterday! 🎉

The Raising Health team was proud to support this fantastic event, celebrating and recognising the incredible achievements of more than 160 staff members and 2 volunteers.

From those reaching an amazing 15 years of service to colleagues celebrating an outstanding 40 years, it was a truly special day dedicated to recognising commitment, dedication, and the difference our people make every day.

A huge thank you also to our wonderful sponsor Tilbury Douglas, and to Christopher Houlder for attending the event and generously donating Amazon vouchers as raffle prizes. Events like these would not be possible without the support of our corporate sponsors, our charity, and everyone who helps make them happen.

We feel incredibly lucky to have been part of such a memorable celebration.

Congratulations to all our award recipients and thank you for your years of service and dedication! 👏💙

A real highlight of last week was attending the fantastic VAL conference with the Raising Health team!

It was great to connect with so many voluntary sector organisations, sharing the work we do, as well as our knowledge, experiences and the challenges we face. We also heard some really insightful talks from Martin Traynor OBE and Jane Moore, who provided valuable tips and a wider perspective on the sector, highlighting the importance of partnership working.

A big thank you to VAL for bringing everyone together - it was such a truly fab event! And it was lovely to catch up with Minaxi, LPT’s Voluntary Services Manager too 😊

Before we share our Summer Newsletter, did you catch our Spring edition? 🌸

We highlighted so many fantastic updates and stories, including an inspiring fundraising effort for our Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS), with one family raising an incredible £1,000 in recognition of the care received.

One of our patients, Steve Taylor, sustained a traumatic head injury during a night out three years ago. After spending a month in hospital, Steve chose to continue his rehabilitation at home with support from our CINSS team rather than moving to a specialist unit.

To show their gratitude, Steve’s wife, Lana, and daughter, Kaytlin, took on the Windsor Half Marathon, raising an amazing amount to support the service that helped his recovery. 🏃‍♀️

Thank you so much to the Ulverscroft Foundation 💙

We’re incredibly grateful for your generous £11,200 donation, which will make a huge difference to our children’s physiotherapy service. This funding will help us purchase a range of much‑needed equipment, supporting our young patients with their physical development.

We can’t wait to share more about this project very soon!

Today, our charity team attended a creative lunch session at the Creative Health & Heritage Centre 🎨

Together with Tim Sayers, arts in mental health co-ordinator at our Trust and Sallie Varnam, development manager at BrightSparks Arts we brought some creativity to a focused working session exploring future funding opportunities and the potential for joint bids to bring more art into our inpatient wards. It was a valuable space to share ideas and strengthen our collaboration as we look to expand creative support for patients.

We know that art can play a powerful role in improving mental health and creating more therapeutic, welcoming environments. And it definitely helped us today to think outside the box.

💡 Get involved: If art in mental health is something you’re passionate about, we are always grateful for donations to help us continue and elevate the therapeutic arts offer at our inpatient wards. Find out more here: https://www.raisinghealth.org.uk/appeals/

As part of Dying Matters Awareness Week, our Raising Health team partnered with End of Life Care teams across our community hospitals to support open and honest conversations about death, dying and bereavement.

We hosted informal pop‑in sessions with staff, exploring how to start those difficult conversations, the bereavement support available, and how to introduce Legacy Giving and In Memory donations with care and sensitivity.

These sessions were a powerful reminder of the beauty in openness. When we create safe spaces to talk about death and bereavement, we invite connection, reflection, and even moments of lightness, alongside the seriousness.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dona Perkins, Kim Sanger, and Lisa Collier, and to the network of champions who welcomed us into these conversations and recognised the value of including the fundraising team in this vital work.
