🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Celebrating a Champion of Inclusion - Charlotte 🌟
This week, we’re proud to shine a light on someone whose dedication to Rudyard Sailability spans public service, personal passion, and years of hands-on support.
This week, we’re proud to shine a light on someone whose dedication to Rudyard Sailability spans public service, personal passion, and years of hands on support.
We’re celebrating a volunteer and trustee whose connection to Rudyard Sailability began during her time as the local MP, when she first learned about our work through supporting a local family. That early connection with us grew into a lasting commitment to our mission.
Charlotte became deeply involved when planning permission for our new boat store was under threat, advocating strongly for the project while carefully avoiding any conflict of interest during her time in office as an MP. After stepping down as MP in 2010, Charlotte joined as a member and finally had the time to volunteer.
Her incredible support is driven by a belief that the Staffordshire Moorlands has far too few facilities for disabled people — a conviction strengthened by their own daughter’s experiences as a wheelchair user. Charlotte understands how vital accessible, joyful activities are, and she has seen firsthand the difference our charity and community make. From helping with the early building work by using her extensive knowledge and her network with local government and cabinet members to relaxing and enjoying time out on the water, volunteering at Rudyard Lake has been both meaningful and rewarding. Today, she continues to champion our work through her role in local government, helping us build awareness and strengthen our case for future support.
We’re incredibly grateful for Charlotte's continued dedication, advocacy, and the personal passion she brings to our mission, shared values and community.
Thank you for everything you do for us, Charlotte! 💙
