🌸 Women’s Wellbeing Hub – August Sessions 🌸

Join us at Bullcroft Memorial Hall, Carcroft, for two friendly and informative sessions focused on food, fitness and women’s wellbeing.

🥗 Friday 7 August, 10am–12pm
Grace Agi Edoh, Primary Care Dietitian, will share her top 10 nutrition tips for women’s health.

💗 Tuesday 18 August, 10am–12pm
Andy from ARP will deliver a workshop about understanding the lymphatic system and lymphatic drainage.

👨‍👩‍👧 Struggling with childcare? Children are welcome, and activities will be available. All Women’s Wellbeing Hubs are family-friendly.

This is a relaxed, informal drop-in event where you can:

We’re delighted that Wendy Watson MBE, of the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, will be there throughout the day, alongside Professor Julian Barwell, Consultant Clinical Geneticist and Honorary Professor at the University of Leicester. Professor Barwell is one of the UK’s leading experts in inherited cancer and genomic medicine, a national clinical adviser to the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, and has dedicated his career to helping families understand and manage inherited cancer risk.

No appointment is needed, and there’s absolutely no pressure—just come along, have a chat, meet the people involved, and find out more.

Living Alongside Grief

Grief can catch us off guard when we least expect it. A memory, a date, a photograph or a passing comment can suddenly bring difficult emotions to the surface.

In this practical and compassionate session, Nicky Tschumi-Leake, founder of BRCare Connect CIC, explores two simple concepts from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR): responding rather than reacting, and recognising that thoughts are not always facts. Participants will leave with a practical tool to help navigate difficult moments with greater awareness and self-understanding.
