St Gemma’s Hospice is a Leeds-based charity providing expert care and support for local people with terminal illnesses. Opened in 1978 we are the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the largest in England. We offer specialist medical and nursing care to thousands of local people each year and offers invaluable support to their families and friends.

Looking for a way to support your local hospice and be part of a fantastic community event?

We're looking for volunteers to help at our Sunset Walk on Saturday 19 September, with a variety of roles available between 4pm and 8.30pm.

Whether you'd like to welcome walkers in the Event Village at Roundhay Park or help keep participants on track as a Route Marshal, we'd love to hear from you.

Volunteering at Sunset Walk is a great way to support St Gemma's, meet new people, learn new skills and be part of an amazing team. We're hoping to recruit 68 volunteers to help make the event a success!

Every plant has been kindly donated, so all proceeds will go directly towards supporting local patient care in Leeds.

Alongside the plant sale, you can explore our award-winning gardens, enjoy live music and refreshments, join a guided tour, and get an exclusive first look at our new bee hives 🐝

It was a privilege to welcome many of our volunteers to the Hospice last week for two lovely tea parties 🫖

The gatherings were just one of the ways we say thank you to our volunteers, who make a difference all year round. They also gave volunteers from across the organisation and our retail teams the opportunity to come together and catch up.

A huge thank you to the Moor Allerton Hall Primary School choir for their fab performance, Janet and David for hosting the quiz, and all the staff who helped make the event such a success.

Most of all, thank you to each and every one of our volunteers. St Gemma's simply wouldn't be here without you 💜

Take a stroll through our award-winning Hospice gardens, meet our gardening team, and pick up plenty of tips and inspiration for your own garden.

You'll also be among the first to see our brand-new bee hives and meet our newest buzzing residents! 🐝

Combining her love of Bollywood dancing and with a passion for giving back, Dr Chakraborty is hosting Bollywood Dancing Classes to fundraise for local patient care.
