We are currently moving out of our St Johns play space. We have some random bits and pieces available to give to non profit community groups which would be great for loose parts play, arts and crafts or large construction projects. We have large cardboard tubes, large pieces of card, wool, fabric, paints. Please see pictures below for an idea of what we have. We will be in the St Johns Centre on Weds 23rd January between 10.00am - 2.00pm if you want to come and have a look at what we have. Please message us through Facebook or leave a comment below to let us know you are coming, the name of the group/organisation you are from and what time you are coming. If you can't make it on that we might be able to arrange a visit on another day, but it will be first come first served to take stuff.

As we are a charity we need to give these items to similar non profit making or community interest groups. We cannot give items to individuals, childcare businesses (i.e. nurseries, childminders etc) or profit making organisations. You don't have to take it away on the day but would need to make arrangements to collect before the end of January/beginning Feb.

Please share with any groups you think would be interested.

Please note that we are no longer accepting referrals for Play Partners and the service will terminate on 31 March 2019. If you have sent a referral through before today, it will still be processed, but we may have to further discuss timelines.

Congratulations to Emily and Susan at St Johns Centre . Worthy winners of 'Partner of the Year' at Leeds Awards for Excellence 2018. The centre has offered us so much support and help during our time running our play space since July 2017, we really appreciate it 😀

If you have been to our play session this morning and have misplaced some keys, we have found them. They have been handed to the management suite office so they can be collected during the centres opening hours. Press the buzzer next to the yellow lockers to talk to a member of staff.

We had a great time last week at the 'Glow in the Dark Slime Workshops' Lots of oohs, aahs and wows when we switched off the lights and saw the slime glowing bright green in the dark 😮😯😮

All of four of our 'Spooky Play Sessions' on Monday 29th and Weds 31st October , and six 'Glow in the Dark Slime' workshops on Tuesday 30th October are now fully booked. These are the maximum numbers we are able to take and will not be releasing any further tickets. You could add your name to the waiting lists in case anyone cancels and returns their tickets.

If you have booked tickets and have had a change of plans please ensure you cancel in plenty of time to give other children on the waiting list the opportunity to attend. Thank you.

We'll be having a little break from Pop in and Play sessions at St Johns Centre this month. We will be open this week on Weds 12th and Thurs 13th September 11.00am - 1.00pm. Then we will be closed for two weeks on Weds 19th, Thurs 20th, Weds 26th and Thurs 27th September. We will be back on Weds 3rd of October at 11.00am.

Leeds Play Network is looking for new Trustees!

At LPN we take play seriously and work across the city to ensure children have access to quality play. Looking forward, we have identified opportunities for exciting new projects that complement and expand the scope of our existing projects. New Trustees will have a vital role in helping LPN to develop these opportunities, thereby ensuring that LPN continues to make a real difference for children and families in Leeds.

LPN is looking for committed individuals to expand the range of trustee skills, as well as to consolidate existing skills, with an eye to succession planning. We require dynamic and motivated people who share the aims, objectives and values of Leeds Play Network. We welcome a wide range of people on the Board, and seek to be representative of the diverse population of Leeds. There is no need to have trustee experience to apply, but an interest in supporting children’s play is essential. In addition, on the basis of a recent skills audit, we are looking for people with:

* financial management & fundraising skills
* organisational development & managerial experience
* strategic planning and innovation skills
* community development experience
* volunteer management experience

This is a voluntary role and cannot be remunerated. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
