Animal Christian Concern - ACC We campaign for an end to animal exploitation as it is incompatible with Christ's teachings of love

We aim to express, inside & outside the Church, the view that cruelty of any kind is incompatible with Christ’s teachings of love, that love is indivisible & that cruelty towards any sentient creature is a breach of love. Our mission is two-fold: to take the Gospel, as it relates to the whole creation, to a secular world; & to attempt to remind the Church of its Biblical responsibilities to animal

s. To this end, we have always liaised with secular animal welfare groups. ACC, pronounced ‘Assisi’ in honour of St Francis, was born out of dismay at humanity’s cruel exploitation of animals & a need for a Christian animal welfare voice. The few of us who gathered together in 1985 little realised that a year later we would be among 700 attending an ACC Service at York Minster, where our Patron, the Bishop of Salisbury preached:-
“To shut your mind, heart, imagination to the sufferings of others is to begin slowly, but inexorably, to die. Those Christians who close their minds & hearts to the cause of animal welfare & the evils it seeks to combat are ignoring the fundamental spiritual teachings of Christ Himself.”
Since then, ACC has held 14 animal services at cathedrals around the UK. Our worldwide campaigns have covered many topics concerning animals who suffer in factory farms, live exports, vivisection, the fur trade, blood sports, entertainment etc. The C of E Board of Social Responsibility & the Diocesan & Deanery Synods have been well informed of ACC concerns; research materials have frequently been requested of us by students; we have contributed to radio & TV programmes & our work has been publicised in many publications, Christian & secular.

Jesus says, “The thief does not come except to steal, kill & destroy. I have come that they may have life & that they may have it more abundantly. I AM the Good Shepherd who gives His life for the sheep (Jn 10:10). In the Garden of Eden, there's no death, killing, or stealing, because the enemy (Satan) has no power there, as everyone has abundant life. God created it this way, because it's His character to be this giver of eternal life. He's not the destroyer, the thief, the one who harms & destroys. When He sets humans in charge of the Garden of Eden, the world, it's not to do our will or to do the will of the adversary, to be killers, destroyers & stealers, but rather to reflect God's character of love, joy & peace, being merciful, towards each other & the animals. That's the way it was in the beginning & the way He promises it will be when He restores it. So we don't want to do the things that He arguably permits, or follow the ways of the fallen world. We want to strive for that ideal that was God's purpose, His will & His reflection from the beginning, all the way to the end. (30 mins + Q&A)

BREAKING: ALL BEAGLES ARE FREE!! RIDGLAN IS CLOSING!

Center for a Humane Economy officially announced this morning what I repeatedly posted here--RIDGLAN IS CLOSED AND THE DOGS WILL BE FREE!!

Soon the rest of the dogs will go to rescues based on a negotiated final deal by Big Dog Ranch Rescue that also paid an extraordinary additional amount of money for the release of the last hundreds of dogs.

As Big Dog Ranch Rescue said repeatedly, they would not give up, and Wayne Pacelle said they entered the negotiations in February, 2026 and paid with Big Dog Ranch Rescue for the release of the first 1,500 beagles as they believed Ridglan was over.

In the last year Ridglan's veterinarian had his license suspended on an emergency basis after 311 animal abuse violations at the facility were found by a judge in court proceedings. A criminal prosecution led to Ridglan agreeing to release its state breeding license, and a few weeks ago Congressman Mark Pocan announced the USDA warned Ridglan to shut down its federal breeding too.

It was a prefect storm of the people, organizations, legal proceedings and rescues nationwide coming together and ending Ridglan, and bringing awareness to cruel animal lab testing!!

And lets not forget the VETERINARIANS such as Crystal Heath who were on site each time the Beagles were released to provide medical attention.

Thank you to everyone involved and I for one have drafted laws against animal testing at the request of my legislator in NYC as well as I am meeting a NY congress member today regarding animal testing laws.

Stay tuned!

SHORT # 10: Most Hebrew speakers know that Biblical 'honey' isn't from bees, but from dates. This common knowledge prevents confusion in Jewish traditions like Tu Bishvat, where date paste is used. It's primarily English translations that lead many to believe it's bee honey.

Being a Christian vegan can feel pretty isolating sometimes. Perhaps nobody in your church understands your veganism, or maybe nobody in your vegan group/community understands your faith in Jesus. At Creation Care Church we believe following Jesus & being vegan go hand in hand! We gather for fellowship on Zoom every Friday night, & there's something truly uplifting about being in a space filled with fellow Christian vegans from all over the world. If you’d like to join us (& we’d love you to!) please see the link in our bio. We hope to see you sometime soon! ☺️🙏🏻✝️🌱

SHORT # 9: Exploring the Genesis Creation story, the text suggests humans were created in God's image & given a specific directive: To be vegan. This interpretation questions traditional views on diet & divinity.

“You will be ever hearing but never understanding; ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, & they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts & turn, & I would heal them. But blessed are your eyes because they see, & your ears because they hear. Many prophets & righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, & to hear what you hear but did not hear it." (Matt 13:14-17)
