Get ready for a day full of laughter, culture, connection and unforgettable memories! 💚❤️🖤
Whether you're Kenyan, have Kenyan roots, or simply love experiencing different cultures, everyone is welcome to join us for Kikwetu Jamii Day on Saturday 19th September 2026 (2:00pm – 10:00pm).

✨ What to expect: 🍛 Delicious Kenyan food 🎶 Amazing music 💃🏾 Traditional & modern dance 🎉 Family-friendly fun 🤝 Meet new people and strengthen friendships 👧🏽 Activities for children 📸 Great photo opportunities ❤️ A warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone belongs.

This is more than just an event—it's a chance to celebrate our heritage, build community, create lasting friendships and make beautiful memories together. Bring your family, invite your friends and come experience the warmth, joy and hospitality that makes Kikwetu so special.

KIKWETU KENYAN FAMILY DAY!👌💞

Get ready for a fun-filled Kenyan Cultural Day as we come together to celebrate our rich heritage through delicious Kenyan food, vibrant music, energetic dance, and beautiful cultural fashion.

This is a great opportunity to reconnect with friends, meet new people, strengthen our community, and introduce our children to the richness of our Kenyan culture

Time: 14.00 to 22.00
Entry: FREE (currently registered Kikwetu members)
Non-members - £20; U15 - £5.

🎉💃🏾 BIG NEWS FOR THE KIKWETU COMMUNITY! 🕺🏾🎉

We are incredibly excited to share that Kikwetu Traditional Dancers have officially been offered a weekly practice space by East St. Arts, Leeds! 🙌🏾

This is a wonderful opportunity for our group to grow, strengthen our performances and continue celebrating the rich beauty of Kenyan culture through music and dance.
Our first dance practice will take place on Friday, 7th August, and from then on we'll be meeting every Friday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at:

Whether you've danced before or not, everyone is welcome!

🎉 Our Voices Were Heard. Our Future Is Brighter! 💚🇰🇪

What an incredible day at our Kikwetu Youth Engagement Event! We are still smiling from the energy, laughter and meaningful conversations shared by our amazing young people, parents and guardians.

From fun icebreaker games to an energetic Afro & Soca dance workshop, the day was filled with connection, confidence and joy! 💃🏾🕺🏾🎶

But the highlight was creating a safe space for our young people to share what really matters to them. Together, we explored the activities that encourage participation, the barriers they face, and their ideas for building a stronger, more engaging community. Every suggestion written down and every conversation shared will help shape future Kikwetu events—designed with young people, for young people, because their voices matter. 💬❤️

Of course, no Kikwetu event is complete without great food! 🍕🥤 We enjoyed delicious pizzas, drinks and refreshments while building new friendships and strengthening our community.

A heartfelt thank you to every young person who attended and to the parents and guardians who supported them. Your presence made this event a huge success.
To our incredible Kikwetu Leadership Team, thank you for your dedication, planning and teamwork in bringing this vision to life. 💚
