Good Luck Matt!
Today, Matt completes his incredible challenge of running 11 kilometres a day for 11 days in memory of his niece,
Bella was just 20 years old when she suffered a brain aneurysm while studying at university in Leeds. During the 11 days she spent in intensive care, her family stayed in a Charlotte’s Room, allowing them to remain close to her during an unimaginably difficult time. We have spoken about Bella before on our page, her incredible family continue to amaze us with their fantastic support and fundraising.
To honour Bella’s memory, Matt has taken on this inspiring challenge while raising funds to help Charlotte’s Rooms continue supporting other families who find themselves in similar circumstances.
We were also incredibly touched to hear Matt speak so openly during his interview on BBC Radio Leeds. Hearing him share Bella’s story and what Charlotte’s Rooms meant to their family was truly moving, and we’re so grateful that he helped shine a light on the difference these rooms can make.
Matt, thank you for your dedication, your generosity, and well done for honouring Bella in such a meaningful way. Everyone at Charlotte’s Rooms is cheering you on as you cross the finish line today.
Bella, you are clearly loved beyond words. You and your wonderful family continue to be in our thoughts always, but especially today on what would have been your 21st birthday.
