Nominations for our seat close on Monday (15 June), with a term of office from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2030.

RCN Council represents every one of our members. As the world’s largest nursing union and professional body, we must be at the top of our game in decision-making. In our Council members, we need extraordinary nursing professionals, able to work as a collective to ensure the RCN makes bold, transparent decisions on behalf of all our members.

We’re urging the government to pause the publishing of its upcoming NHS workforce plan, and alongside organisations representing over 1 million NHS staff, we’ve written to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, raising serious concerns that the plan:
⚠️ Will fail to reflect daily reality staff face
⚠️ Will fail to deliver workforce growth needed
⚠️ Will overstate the role of AI
