Celebrating Dave and an incredible journey of confidence, independence and achievement! 💙
We’re incredibly proud to share that Dave has secured paid employment at where he will be working as Office Support Staff!
When Dave first joined us, he was very anxious and lacked confidence in his own abilities. He found socialising difficult and often needed guidance and reassurance, particularly when faced with new situations or unfamiliar environments.
Over time, we’ve seen Dave’s confidence grow massively. He has worked incredibly hard to challenge himself, try new things and become more independent, and the progress he has made has been amazing to see.
At the beginning of the year, Dave’s job coach needed to walk him to the taxi. Now, he is able to get the bus by himself. What might seem like a small change is actually a huge milestone for Dave and is a fantastic example of how much his confidence and independence have developed. 🚌
Dave has also gone from not socialising, to regularly attending our Connections Clubs. Through these sessions, he has built relationships, developed his communication and social skills, and became much more comfortable meeting new people and getting involved.
His achievements in education have been fantastic too. Dave achieved an incredible 95% on his Level 1 Maths paper and has completed his Level 2 English. He worked incredibly hard for these results and has every reason to be proud of himself. 📚
And now, Dave has taken another huge step by securing paid employment at CITU. The team have been incredibly supportive and have recognised what a valuable asset Dave will be to the workplace. They described him as someone who brings “the light to the office” a lovely reflection of the positivity and personality he brings with him. 💙
Dave has also given a speech at Graduation, another brilliant example of just how far he has come. 🎓
It’s amazing to think about how much Dave has progressed. He has gone from feeling unsure in unfamiliar situations to someone who is willing to step outside of his comfort zone, take on new challenges, and believe in what he can achieve.
Dave’s journey shows just how much can be achieved with the right support, encouragement and opportunities, alongside his own determination and hard work.
We are so proud of Dave and everything he has achieved so far.
