Helping more families access essential SEND information across Leeds!

Navigating special educational needs and disability services can feel daunting, especially when English isn't your first language or if you use British Sign Language. Leeds Local Offer, Leeds Parent Carer Forum, and Leeds SENDIASS have produced a fantastic series of short information videos available in multiple community languages and BSL.

Topics and languages available include:

* Introduction to the Leeds Local Offer: Available in British Sign Language (BSL), Farsi, and Polish (with more languages coming soon).

* Introduction to Leeds Parent Carer Forum: Available in Urdu, Farsi, Slovak, Polish, Tigrinya, and Romanian.

* Introduction to SENDIASS: Available in British Sign Language (BSL) and Cantonese.

* Quick Guide to EHCP Needs Assessments and Plans: Available in Slovak, Farsi, Urdu, Pothwari, Tigrinya, and Romanian.

* Quick Guide to SEND Support (Leeds SENDIASS): Available in Slovak, Farsi, Urdu, Pothwari, Tigrinya, and Romanian.

* SEND Support Suite (Urdu): Covering SEND definitions, broad areas of need, the Graduated Approach, reasonable adjustments, and preparing for/attending SEND meetings.

Knowing where to find the right support can make all the difference when you're struggling with your mental health. Throughout the week, local organisations will be sharing information about trusted services, community support, wellbeing resources, and where to turn in a crisis.

For Light Night Leeds, our Travel with Confidence team is doing a safe walk! It will be from Leeds Bus Station and will walk around the City Centre, looking at some of the art.
