The Rees Foundation’s From Care to Command project brings care-experienced veterans together with people who understand both military life and the experience of growing up in care.

Through peer-led sessions and monthly support groups, participants have space to talk, reflect and connect without judgement.

For Christian, that shared understanding was transformative:
“Speaking to people I could identify with, like-minded individuals with similar experiences, and being able to connect with people all over the UK has completely changed my life.”

His story is one of resilience, connection and learning to take pride in his service. It shows what can happen when someone who has felt unheard is given the opportunity to connect, contribute and recognise their achievements.
