Cpl McCombe-Kekus, Cadets Wieckewicz and Thompson had a great day flying RAF Leeming.

Blue wings will be awarded in a couple of weeks when they have done the ground school.

📅Not all about being in the classroom 🗓️

Not everything cadets do is inside - so far this year we've had cadets on the water, in the field and of course in the air.

Canoing / Kayaking/ Bell Boating with our own CI Organ using equipment and facilities Friends of Roundhay Park

Winning medals at wing and region athletics.

Fieldcraft training including camouflage and concealment in the field.

Learning Cooking / Tent / Map reading skills ready for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

And one of the cadets favourite activities - flying the Grob Tutor RAF Leeming

🎉 Congratulations to CI Whiteman🎉

On Tuesday evening we recognised CI Kyle Whiteman.

Kyle came to 208(North Leeds) from 127 City of Wakefield Squadron, Air Cadets when he aged out at 20 from cadets.

CI Whiteman was a long standing member of 127 where he achieved the rank of CDT Flight Sergeant. He was awarded Silver Duke of Edinburgh and Civilian Wings for going solo at Sherburn Aero Club .

🎖️Duke of Edinburgh Success🎖️

Congratulations to Sgt Bohm & Cpl Dutton on completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The award is the culmination of several months hard work and a 2 day walking expedition.

🎉🎉Congratulations to Tutor Flight on your Graduation🎉🎉

On Friday 2nd October we were pleased to graduate 11 cadets from Tutor Flight. These cadets joined the squadron earlier this year and not only have they completed their 1st Class classification they have also achieved other 'blue' badge qualifications.

Cadets were awarded the following qualifications.

Blue First Aid - Essential First Aid skills including CPR
Blue Leadership - Basic Leadership skills including team working and problem solving
Blue Space - Basic training on the Space Syllabus including orbits.
First Class - 1st level of training for all cadets, covering Map Reading, Basic Radio, Initial Expedition Training, Uniform care, Drill and Airmanship.

While doing their basic training these cadets undertook some practical training in Paddlesports and Map Reading / Walking on parade nights to give them a fully rounded experience.

Congratulations and welcome to the squadron - your journey has only just begun.

Last week cadets took on a challenge to design and build a set of scales using MTa kits. STEM is part of our syllabus along with team work and communications.

Well done to both teams completing the challenge.

A very well deserved award for all you do for the cadets.

We are delighted to celebrate Mr Dale Kitching, 208 (North Leeds) Squadron, on being officially awarded a West Yorkshire Lord-Lieutenant’s Award, recognising his outstanding contribution and service to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

The HM Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards are a prestigious form of recognition, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and made a real difference through their service. As the Lord-Lieutenant represents His Majesty The King in West Yorkshire, this award is a particularly meaningful acknowledgement of Mr Kitching’s contribution to both South & West Yorkshire Wing and the Corps as a whole.

This is a significant recognition of Mr Kitching’s dedication, commitment and the positive impact he has made through his service.

Last Friday saw the squadron have a visit from Wing Staff as part of our Annual Formal inspection. While Sqn Ldr Emms was visiting he presented Blue Space and Blue leadership.

Well done to all who took part and were successful in they PTS training.
