Timebanking is a way for local people to help each other and be recognised for the help that they give. Everyone's time is valued equally regardless of the skills being exchanged and no money exchanges hands. piano lesson, dog walking), they receive one time credit which they can spend on getting some help from another member (e.g. help filling out a form, getting a lift to the airport). One hour

= one Time Credit. Time Banks help people to get stuff done, pick up new skills, meet new people and feel good. So you want to join the Time Bank? Here’s what to do!

1. Get in contact with us
You can either fill in this form http://tinyurl.com/nqycxee
Email [email protected]
Or phone / text us on 07784 231303
Our coordinator, Tamsin or one of our Volunteers will get back to you to arrange a meeting. We like to meet all our new members. It keeps things personal and safe!

2. Meet us
This meeting usually takes around an hour and could take place at a café, a community event or even at your home if necessary. This will give us chance to get to know you, work out what skills and services you would like to offer and find out exactly what it is you would like to receive from the Time Bank. It also allows you to ask us questions about how it all works and make sure you are happy to sign the Membership Agreement which outlines your responsibilities as a Time Bank member. You can find the Membership Agreement here - http://tinyurl.com/jbyksoe

3. Hold tight
After your sign-up meeting we will enter your information on to the Time and Talents software and contact your references. We contact two people for every new member. These are people who know you well i.e. a family member, friend or colleague who can verify your skills and tell us more about you. Sometimes this can take a few weeks so we recommend that you use this time to read the Member Handbook which you can find here - http://tinyurl.com/hsn8dp3

4. Log on to Time and Talents - our online Time Bank Exchange Software
Time and Talents lets you create your own Time Bank profile, add your offers and requests, view offers and requests from our other members, arrange exchanges and record Time Credits. When we have your references we will email you with your Time and Talents username. You can use this to reset your password, check your details and add more information to your offers and requests. We also recommend that you add a photo and a few words about yourself. This makes it a little more personal and means that people are more likely to want to arrange exchanges with you. We have written a guide to help you navigate Time and Talents which you can find here - http://tinyurl.com/hteak4n
Get in touch if you would like some help getting to grips with Time and Talents. We can offer problem solving over the phone or match you up with a Time Bank member who can go through it with you in person. We also run group training sessions.

5. Start exchanging! You can find lots of opportunities to earn and spend credits on Time and Talents, our website, page and the newsletter. You can also email or ring the Time Bank coordinators to request help or find out more information about what’s on offer. We give a Time Credit to everyone who joins the Time Bank to help get you started! We hold regular drop-in sessions for members and non members where you can become a member, log offers and requests, arrange exchanges and meet other members. Get in touch to find out when and where!
