🌱 A little bit of Urban Planting at HYC this week!

We got stuck into one of our mini campaigns, turning old tins into upcycled plant pots, making wildflower seed bombs and creating some very cute Pots of Joy 🌼💚

If you find one... it's yours! 🪴✨

Take it home, look after it and let it grow — and if you spot one out in the wild, we'd love to know where you found it! 👀

A tiny pot. A little bit of kindness. A lot of joy. 💚

The plan? To spread a little more colour, nature and happiness around Halton — while giving things that might have ended up in the bin a whole new life ♻️

Small ideas, big difference 🌻🐝

💚 Communication. Teamwork. Public Speaking. Creativity. 💚

This week's HYC session had it all! 🌟

From presenting ideas and working together as a team, to speaking with confidence and thinking outside the box, our members put a whole range of skills into practice.

These are the skills that help young people become confident leaders, campaigners and changemakers—and every challenge is another step forward on their HYC Skills Challenge journey. 👏

A brilliant evening full of ideas, laughter and learning!

✨🏆 What a fantastic night celebrating all things HYC and Binimals! 🐸♻️

We're incredibly proud to share that Halton Youth Cabinet took home the Famous Five Award at the Ykids Believe Awards 2026! 🎉

This award recognises a group of young people who are making the world a better place, and it couldn't be more deserved. Every campaign, every event, every meeting and every idea has been driven by the passion, creativity and determination of our amazing young people.

From Binimals and Light Up Halton to Access4All, Support4All and everything in between, HYC continue to prove that young people can create real, lasting change in their community.

A huge congratulations to every member of Halton Youth Cabinet – this award belongs to each and every one of you. We're so proud of everything you've achieved and can't wait to see what you do next. 💚

🐉🥔 HYC entered the Dragon’s Den… crisp edition! 🥔🐉

This week our young people took on a creativity challenge — creating, branding and pitching their very own packet of crisps 👀

🌶️ Arabian Spice brought the flavour and the performance with a parody song and speech
🌌 Supernova wowed us with their design process and out-of-this-world flavours

A very tough decision, but Arabian Spice took the win 🏆

We’re incredibly honoured to share that Halton Youth Cabinet has been nominated for a BBC Make a Difference Award 🌟

To have our young people and the work they’ve put into campaigns like Binimals, community events and youth voice recognised in this way means so much 💚

HYC continues to show the amazing impact young people can have when they’re given the space to lead, create and make change in their community — and we couldn’t be prouder of them 👏

Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way!

A fantastic day supporting the Halton Brook Litter Network launch! ♻️

We were proud to receive a certificate recognising our work on Binimals, before getting stuck into a litter pick — collecting an amazing 82 bags of litter 👏💚

Our second annual Light Up Halton was a huge success 💫

So proud of the young people who planned, spoke and brought the energy. The town hall was glowing — and so was the community ✨
