What is school really like for young people today? 💭

The Youth Work Unit Y&H is supporting a group of young people to carry out peer research exploring the experiences of young people in education.
Our peer researchers want to hear from you! 🗣️
They have created two short surveys to help them understand what young people are really experiencing in school:

As an Amplify Peer Researcher, you’ll receive training, develop research and leadership skills, and work alongside other young people locally and nationally, influencing recommendations on how youth voice is supported. (No particular experience is needed)

Not your average Friday morning! 👀

On Friday, we had the brilliant opportunity to support young people from South Yorkshire to attend an event where the Prime Minister announced a major new devolution plan, giving more powers to regional mayors.

The young people not only heard the announcement first-hand but also had the chance to meet the Prime Minister in an informal setting. We’re incredibly proud of how confidently they represented young people from their local communities and the region.

🎥 In this reel, you’ll hear directly from the young people as they share their thoughts on devolution and reflect on meeting the Prime Minister- highlighting why it is so important young people are included in and have access to opportunities like this.

We had a great time today at York Youth Festival!
A big well done and thank you to York Youth Council & Julie Ellerker for all the hard work and organising to make today happen!
It was great to speak to young people about regional youth voice opportunities and what they would like to change in their communities, a reminder that every voice matters.
