Sharing the concert highlights! โœจ

Our partners at South Asian Arts UK teamed up with Future Talent Ambassador Rekesh Chauhan to co-create a piece, which they called 'Naad Vandana' or 'Homage Through Sound'. After the performance, sitar player Subhan spoke to the host Alexander Armstrong about what it was like to create the piece, and being apart of both charities.

The musicians travelled - via minbus - all the way from Leeds and Bradford especially to perform, and Subhan, Sukhraj, Ahmed Ikjot, Anjali and Preet absolutely nailed it. Congratulations!

โœจ A special moment at Sinfonia Smith Square, London.

Our young musician Subhan Iqbal proudly represented SAA-uk and Future Talent, sharing his experience and journey in conversation with Alexander Armstrong as part of this special evening celebrating the life and legacy of Katharine, The Duchess of Kent.

From Leeds and Bradford to one of Londonโ€™s most prestigious stages, it was a wonderful opportunity for our young musicians to showcase their talent, passion and the richness of Indian classical music.

๐ŸŽถ Young talent. Extraordinary opportunities. Lasting memories.

Last night, Future Talent x SAA-ukโ€™s Indian Music Ensemble had the great honour of performing at Sinfonia Smith Square London, for a special gathering celebrating the life and legacy of the late Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent, Katharine.

Among the distinguished guests were the Duchessโ€™s husband, the Duke of Kent 90, supported by his brother Prince Michael of Kent 84. Also in attendance were all three of the Duchessโ€™s children - Lady Helen Taylor, the Earl of St Andrews and Lord Nicholas Windsor, as well as granddaughters Lady Marina Windsor & Lady Amelia Windsor. Lord Freddy Windsor, the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, was also there with his wife Sophie Winkleman.

Hosted by Alexander Armstrong, the concert was organised by Future Talent, the charity co-founded by the Duchess to support gifted young musicians from low-income backgrounds.

The charity helps disadvantaged young people to access music lessons, instruments, mentoring and performance opportunities. Its ambassadors include Dame Judi Dench, Lesley Garrett and Sting, as well as Armstrong.

We are deeply grateful to Future Talent for the opportunity for our young Indian classical musicians โ€” Sukhraj Singh Atwal, Preet Singh, Subhan Iqbal, Ahmed Iqbal, Ikjot Kaur Khokhar and Anjali Virdee โ€” to perform Naad Vandana (Homage to Sound), a new work co-composed with Rekesh Chauhan BEM.

Performing alongside Future Talent musicians and the Commonwealth Symphony, it was a beautiful celebration of music, young talent and collaboration.

โœจ A special stage. A remarkable legacy. A proud moment for the next generation of Indian classical musicians.
