🌟🌟 🌟 HAREHILLS SUPERSTARS 🌟🌟🌟

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to try Crown Green Bowling with all the family.

It's really uplifting to receive positive comments on the bowling green conditions. 🤗

Thank you 💪💪💪 we are trying! Learning everyday and making mistakes along the way but overall a positive difference 🙏

Not gonna lie, it's hard work. Taking commitment from a few key volunteers and it's simply never ending! All year round too for us - ya know with having the best winter green in Leeds is a huge responsibility 😜😅

Jokes aside..(despite it being true 🤣) We are ultimately preserving and improving our bowling greens and that means nothing if people aren't able to access them.

So we are also are trying to squeeze some social bowling time and taster sessions. You can drop in but registering your interest is really helpful. Either pop us a message or email us [email protected].

Mondays 11am-12 term time. Tradition Crown Green Bowling Open to all ages 8+ so if looking for a recreational activity and you're home schooling do get in touch too this could be perfect. A parent twiddling the thumbs while your child is at nursery or school? This could be a bit of 'you time' do come say hello, we are a friendly bunch most of the time, we do ask that you respect the space and effort of our volunteers and you will be welcome for life. 🤗

Also targeting a younger audience but all ages welcome our sessions will resume in Friday evenings from 4:30pm - committing to an hour initially but will stay as long as people are happy to continue playing. This will include a fun variety of bowling alongside traditional crown green bowling. Under 14s will need an adult present. Under 18s will need an adult present initially to sign up.

We get asked all the time when can people come and try bowls??

Well... Pretty much anytime. If someone's here they will mostly be happy to show you, there doesn't need to be a set time to try bowls, unless playing in a league game or doing important maintenance that can't wait then anyone will gladly get you started on your journey. Just come say hello 🤗

An impromptu taster session for Rania on Thursday as she sauntered round the park in the glorious sunshine 😍

A natural it seems with some cracking bowling picked up almost immediately 👏👏

This time it was Alan who was practising, thanks Alan. 👍👌

As it happens we do have a planned session on Monday for our Open day, 🎉🎉 so come along 1:30 - 3:30pm to then Monday mornings from 13th April.

See you on Monday and Happy Easter 🐣 🐣

Important info for those attending Harehills Park Bowling Club tomorrow!

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE EASTER MONDAY ACTIVITY DAY AND EASTER EGG HUNT

The ticket link is now closed! We are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday!
!!

First up please dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothes and FLAT soled shoes/trainers, no sandals or heels please.

Children must not run on the greens or surrounds (nor the adults too! 😂)

The plan for the day is as follows.

GATES OPEN 1PM

DO ARRIVE BY 1:30PM LATEST

Register for Easter Egg Hunt on the bottom Green 1pm - 1:30pm there will be an opportunity to take part in some fun bowling and traditional crown green bowls! Please wait until you are called onto the green before going on for safety. All equipment is provided and suitable for all ages 3-103! No charge!

The egg hunt is free to take part however you will have the opportunity to purchase additional treats for your child for just £1 and raffle tickets.

During this time around the top green (currently closed for bowls) is where you will find refreshments, tombola, easter colouring competition, we don't have facilities for card payments (yet) so do bring change, refreshments from as little as 50p

We will be selling some raffle tickets for an Easter Hamper and have a Lucky Egg Dip (prize every time) for £1. We also have pin the tale on the bunny limited entries to win a large easter egg £1 the closest tale will win!

Bella Bubbles will arrive at 1:45pm to warm up before the egg hunt with party games and prizes. This will be outdoors too and may be on the park next to the greens if wet to protect the bowling green surface.

Egg hunt starts approx 2:30pm!! Everyone will start off together! We will be hiding in excess of 250 eggs so do not collect more than 2 eggs per child. There is one giant egg so keep a look out! The bigger the egg the bigger the prize. They do vary! 🤗

You will have until 3:15 to retrieve all the eggs.
From 3-3:45 Bella Bubbles will be hosting some dance games around the green whilst queuing to see Bunny Pete, there will be singing and dancing so do join in! This will help pass the time in a fun way! Bella Bubbles will announce the winner of the colouring competition, tale on the bunny competition and draw the raffle too!

Bunny Pete will leave around 3:45pm or when everyone recieves their treats (whichever is later!) but do make sure you're back in time!

Event finishes 4pm

Please note, we do have to hide the eggs before the event so there is a possibility these may be noticed on your entrance. Please do not let your children start looking before the start time as scheduled by us, as everyone will set off together, if they find them accidentally please put them back tell them the magic won't work until after 3pm! If you do allow your children to pick them up they will be disappointed as we will disqualify them from the Easter Egg Hunt. 😲🙈 We obviously don't want to do this but being in a public park is the only way to manage this. The eggs themselves have NOTHING in them aside from coins that are then traded with Bunny Pete for chocolate treats! Treats vary! Not everyone is guaranteed a large sized egg as it was impossible to fund an unlimited amount. You can purchase one ahead of your hunt to guarantee one though while stocks last! ALL CHILDREN WILL MEET BUNNY PETE AND RECEIVE TREATS REGARDLESS SO DON'T WORRY THIS IS FOR FUN.

We don't want to disappoint anyone or spend funds unnecessarily so please let us know of any dietary requirements ASAP and no later than Thursday 7th April. We have no special requirements as yet which seems unusual for 250+ people and over 140 children! This was requested for upon booking so please do let us know. 😊

Also if you can not make it please cancel your booking via Eventbrite so we can manage numbers and know how many additional people can come in on the day! Thank you.

We will be taking photos and filming on the day please let us know if you don't wish to be included in any campaign/promotional material. As we are in a public park we cannot prevent anyone else from taking photos.

Please let us know if you have any questions!!

See you Monday!!

09/02/2023

As we approach the school holidays next week we respectfully remind you all to please educate your children, whether it be at home, at a community group, or at school that bowling greens are not football pitches 🤗

If you do see any children/adults inside the bowling greens playing football this will damage the playing surface so please don't ignore it. A message on Facebook to us is perfect, it time stamps it for us and we can check cctv too!

To help further please share this post so others can be reminded too!

Thank you
