We'd like to remind Leicester City Council that busking is not a licenced activity. We encourage buskers not to register with the council, and to continue exercising their right to make reasonable use of public spaces.

More importantly, if you choose to apply using these legally unenforceable channels, please DO NOT attempt to use this against those who haven't in an attempt to move them off their chosen pitch.

While there is a PSPO in place restricting amplification, there is no legal restriction on all other forms of street entertainment. We ask the council to issue a correction, and we will be contacting them privately to discuss the issue

Busking is back! Leicester offers a warm welcome to street entertainers ready to showcase their talents at our new city centre Busk Leicester performance pitches. It’s free and easy to book. Find out more here: https://ow.ly/KbBU50YzILq

If you live in Birmingham or know anyone who does, please contact your local councillor before 22nd July imploring them not to pass the proposed PSPO that would ban busking across the whole city centre.

The likelihood at the moment is that the proposals will be waved through by councillors who don't understand what they're voting for.

Let's make them aware.
