🌟 Calling All Young People! 🌟

We’re excited to invite young people to join us at Penda’s Community Centre on 27th December 2024 at 12:00:

📍 Address:
Penda’s Community Centre,
Penda’s Way, Leeds

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to share your opinions, suggestions, or anything else that’s on your mind. Your input is essential as we work to shape the future of The Tribe Youth Group.

Both Claire and I believe that this group belongs to the young people, and we want to make sure your voices are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s activities you’d like to see, changes you’d like made, or simply something you want to talk about, we’re here to listen.

We can’t wait to hear your ideas and work together to make this group the best it can be. See you there!

🌟 Public Update: The Tribe Youth Group 🌟

Thank you to everyone who attended Monday’s meeting! We had an incredible turnout with around 21 adults and 5 young people sharing feedback and ideas.

📄 Meeting Notes Available
After spending 6 hours transcribing the audio recording, I’ve compiled the notes into a PDF document, which is now available for public viewing. If you’d like a copy, please get in touch.

📞 Contact Details
You can reach me via:
• WhatsApp: 07784 704219 (for easy messaging).
• Email: [email protected]

Please limit phone calls where possible to ensure I can respond efficiently.

💬 Feedback on Finances
There were many questions about the group’s finances and accounts. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I’ve not yet received a positive response from previous volunteers regarding access to statements or account details. Transparency is key, and I’ll continue pushing for answers to provide clarity to everyone.

📊 Your Voice Matters
We’ve posted a poll on our page for parents, guardians, and carers to vote on the best date to bring young people to share their ideas and input. The session will take place around 12-1pm, with the final date decided based on the majority vote.

👫 Introducing Claire Wall
Claire Wall is now my co-lead and will play a significant role in the group moving forward. Both Claire and I are volunteers with no personal gain from running the group, we’re simply passionate about seeing the young people who attend enjoy themselves and thrive.

📧 Quick Replies
If you’ve emailed me recently, I’ve responded within a few hours. Please check your spam folder if you don’t see a reply.

Thank you all for your continued support and commitment to The Tribe Youth Group. Together, we’ll ensure its future is bright and focused on the young people we serve.

Many thanks, Daniel.

🌟 Rebuilding The Tribe Youth Group 🌟

Hi everyone,

My name is Daniel, and I’ve recently taken on the responsibility of leading The Tribe Youth Group.

While I was not directly involved with the group before aside from providing website support, social media activity, and photography, I’m stepping forward now because I believe in what The Tribe stands for.

This youth group has been a vital resource for young people in the area, and its closure has left a gap in our community.

The issues caused by Jean and Sara have been troubling, but their actions should not define or end The Tribe. This group was created for the children and young people, and they deserve to have it thrive once again.

Wendy has decided to step away from the group and has entrusted me with the opportunity to rebuild it into something better. However, I can’t do this alone, I need your help.

Here’s what I need to move forward:
• Volunteers: I’m one person, and I can’t do this by myself. We need people who can offer their time, skills, and support.

• Ideas: Help us shape The Tribe into a better, more inclusive, and welcoming group for everyone.

• Funding: We need to secure funds to ensure The Tribe is financially sustainable.

• A Venue: A low-cost or donated space for events and sessions is essential as we currently have no active funding. I will be speaking with Pendas to see if The Tribe can remain.

• Community Support: Let’s come together to show that The Tribe is about the children and young people, not the issues of the past.

• Meeting: I’d like to hold a meeting for young people, parents, carers and volunteers to express their concerns, feelings, ideas and where we can push The Tribe forward

About the Funds
Wendy, who previously served as the treasurer, has reassured me that the group’s finances were not misused.

We are currently determining what funds are still accessible to support this rebuilding effort.

I’m new to running a youth group, but I’ve never let inexperience stop me before. With your support, I’m confident we can turn things around and make The Tribe a success.

If you’re willing to help in any way, volunteering, offering ideas, or providing space, please contact me at [email protected].

Let’s work together to make this happen. (please disregard the previous email () and the old WhatsApp number)

Thank you,
Daniel

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of The Tribe Youth Group. The decision, has been a hard decision and unfortunately, has been forced upon us due to the negative publicity generated by the Barnbrook sisters. This has resulted in all our public funding being withdrawn, rendering The Tribe financially unsustainable.

While these financial challenges might have been addressed, hostility directed towards our volunteers, both in public and on social media, for actions entirely unrelated to our organization, has left us with no other viable option.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported The Tribe over the years. We also offer our sincerest apologies to those who have lost a vital outlet due to the reprehensible actions of two individuals.

It has been an honour and a genuine pleasure serving the community for the past seven years.

Thank you

Wendy and Lynsey x

Last night was wonderful! We kicked off the session with some free time, which included music, games, crafts, football, and discussions. Later, we had our own light night, where we used glow sticks for teamwork activities. The session wrapped up with Harrison leading some fun games.

Please note that there will be no Friday group during the half term.

Our board game night turned into an unexpected football match with the local police! They spent the whole evening having fun with us before they had to head out to a call in Swarcliffe, where some youths were causing a bit of trouble.

We all agreed that the police were definitely our "Star of the Week!"

A big shoutout to Sarah for her fantastic help with the session—thank you so much!
