WYCCP Resettlement Service

WYCCP Resettlement Service WYCCP is an independent charity which aims to reduce re-offending and contribute to building safer and stronger communities in West Yorkshire.

Staff and volunteers provide dedicated resettlement support to men leaving HMP Leeds and their families. WYCCP helps men who are being released from prison to integrate into the community through giving practical support both inside prison and after release. Our Family Support In-to-Out project, in partnership with Jigsaw Visitors Centre, provides person centred and invaluable support to any membe

r of a prisoner's family while their loved one is in prison or after release. Our volunteers are key to our success and we offer a 'hands on', practical and supported volunteering opportunity. We recruit volunteers from all walks of life; what they have in common is the desire to help people, a non-judgemental approach, reliability, a willingness to be trained and with some time to give each week. As part of our Meet the Member series, we are heading North today. The West Yorkshire Community Chaplaincy Project (WYCCP Resettlement Service) aims to create a better society for us all by working alongside people who have been in prison to help them achieve settled and productive lives back in our community.

They begin working with people inside prison and this help can continue for many months post-release with them and their families. Their team of dedicated staff are assisted by a committed team of volunteers who are vital in providing both practical and emotional assistance to ex-prisoners as they settle back into the community.
