The Sugarwell Hill Gang

The Sugarwell Hill Gang We're a merry gang of volunteers who meet regularly to help look after Sugarwell Hill, a public green space in Meanwood.

It's one of Leeds' most significant meadow habitats, home to an amazing array of wildlife from butterflies to bats to fungi. All welcome to join our regular Action Days which are run with support from Leeds City Council, and our more informal Litter Picks. Check our events tab for what's coming up.

Friends of Sugarwell Hill The Sugarwell Hill Gang volunteers joined Leeds Parks and Countryside Service, Countryside Ranger Team ๐Ÿฆ‰ for their March volunteer task.

โ—พ๏ธ Volunteers carried out estate tasks, an annual spring clean, litter picking, and public rights of way - footpath work, removing bramble, overhanging and fallen branches blocking footpaths ๐Ÿ˜Š

โ—พ๏ธAll areas were surveyed for nesting birds and small mammals prior to work taking place ๐Ÿ‘

โ—พ๏ธMany thanks to this awesome group of volunteers. Who we have put forward to BBC Radio Leeds, to be nominated for the "Make a Difference" Green Award

A lovely morning spent in the sun. Thanks all for your hard work, it was a great turnout. We cut back along all the main footpaths, litter picked, gave the "best bench in the world" a little glow up, and bashed some balsam.

We'll confirm a date for our annual meadow scything meet up soon ๐Ÿ˜Ž
