As first day of Muharram ushers in the Islamic New Year a sacred beginning, a time for fasting, sincere supplication, repentance, and drawing closer to Allah. It is a reminder that every new year is an opportunity to renew our faith and our responsibility to one another.

For many, however, Muharram also signals the onset of the rainy season. While some welcome the rains as a blessing, countless families face sleepless nights under leaking roofs, flooded homes, and the constant fear for their children's safety and wellbeing.

The Month of Allah calls us to worship and to compassion alike. True devotion is reflected in how we respond to the struggles of those around us. A prayer offered with sincere hands is beautiful, but a hand extended to help can become an answer to someone else's prayer.

As we begin this new year, let us remember the vulnerable, stand with those facing hardship, and turn our faith into action. Because the measure of our humanity is not only in what we believe, but in what we do for those who need us most.

Perhaps the storms of Muharram are not only sent to drench the earth, but to reveal the state of our souls. A society is not remembered by how loudly it prayed, but by how deeply it cared. When one family sleeps in fear while another sleeps in comfort, the test belongs to both.

Every new year is a page yet unwritten. The legacy you leave will not be counted by the wealth you kept, but by the burdens you helped another carry.

There are families who don't pray for wealth. They don't pray for luxury. They simply pray that when the rain falls tonight, their roof won't collapse on their children.

As the rainy season approaches, fear is settling into the hearts of countless people living in dilapidated shelters. Every dark cloud in the sky reminds them that another night of leaks, floods, and uncertainty is coming. For them, the sound of rain is not peaceful it's terrifying.

This is why the meaning of life is found in service to others. When we lift someone who has fallen, we also heal something within ourselves. Service has the power to silence our anxieties, give purpose to our pain, and remind us that humanity is at its best when we care for one another.

Today, you can be the answer to someone's prayer.

Your donation is a roof over a child's head, warmth for a mother and dignity for a father who has lost hope. Most importantly, your kindness could be the difference between a family spending the night in fear and spending the night in peace beneath a safe roof.

For years, access to clean water was a daily struggle for the people of Genta Burr. With only one water source available, the community would drink from it one day, and their livestock would use it the next, a stark reminder of the challenges they faced in meeting one of life's most basic needs.

Today, by the grace of Allah, that hardship has been eased. The community now has access to clean water and a masjid that will serve as a place of worship, learning, and unity.

SubhanAllah, it is amazing how one sincere decision to give can change the lives of so many. A simple act of charity can leave a legacy that continues for generations, with every drop of water consumed and every prayer offered becoming a source of ongoing reward. May Allah accept this as Sadaqah Jariyah and bless all those who made it possible. Ameen.

A dead dog polluted the only water well they had. Children drank from it. Families suffered from it. Day after day, they walked miles to a clinic while doctors feared what would come next.

Then one act of generosity changed everything. A COMMUNITY BOREHOLE.

Think about that.

Some people leave footprints on the earth. Others leave mercy flowing long after they’re gone.

Some deeds clean a well, others cleanse a destiny.

The situation was equally difficult for livestock. Animals could often be seen wandering around the well, desperately searching for water. Whenever someone fetched water, the thirsty animals would rush towards them, hoping to take a quick sip before the precious water was carried away. The frustration was visible, not only among the people but also among the animals. Yet, the reality was harsh: the water available was insufficient even for human consumption.

The well itself was an open source that had served the community for more than four decades. Unfortunately, it was neither clean nor hygienic. At one point, tragedy struck when a dog fell into the well and died without the knowledge of the villagers. For more than a week, the community unknowingly consumed the contaminated water. It was only after the water developed a foul smell and residents began complaining of stomach pains that an investigation was conducted. A villager was lowered into the well, only to discover the remains of the dead dog at the bottom.

Today, that nightmare has come to an end.

Through the generous support of our donors, under the Children of Adam Appeal, and courtesy of Hafiz Sulayman & Family, a clean and reliable water source has been provided for the people of Sinchu Colley. What was once a daily struggle has now become a source of relief, dignity, and hope for the entire community.

This water project is more than just a well, it is a lifeline that will improve health, save time, support livelihoods, and benefit generations to come.
