A brilliant day out for the whole family supporting Sue Ryder️ 💙

Join us for The Bronte Pub Walk, sponsored by Bulloughs Cleaning Services, a 10 mile walk in beautiful Bronte country with eight delightful stops en route. There is also a 5 mile route with 6 stops for those who prefer a shorter walk.

Starting in Haworth, participants will visit eight refreshment points on the route that features Stanbury, Ponden, the outskirts of Oakworth and finishes on the iconic Haworth Main Street. The route will be well marked, but is self-guided and walkers are responsible for themselves at all times.

This Volunteers' Week, meet our brilliant volunteer Diane, who is stepping up for The Great Leeds Walk in July to support Sue Ryder.

Diane's journey began when she connected with the hospice through her workplace in Horsforth while seeking ways for her business to aid local charities. After participating in a Christmas bucket collection, she met friendly volunteers and discovered a local Sue Ryder fundraising group in Morley. Having volunteered with Brownies for 25 years, returning to volunteering felt like a natural transition for Diane.

Diane is preparing to take on one of the longer routes, spanning 18 to 25 miles. She has been actively fundraising at work by establishing a charity group that supports six employee-nominated causes, including the hospice.

"I always try to raise money each year if I can," Diane said. "It's just nice to all be able to do something positive. I think if you can help in some way, you should. It's important to support where you can."

There's still time to register for The Great Leeds Walk on Saturday, 11th July, with routes of varying lengths available at sueryder.org/greatleedswalk.

This week is Volunteers’ Week - an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers.

We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of our incredible volunteers 💙

Our volunteers work across our shops and healthcare centres in a range of roles. Without their dedication and support, we wouldn’t be able to provide our expert care. So again, thank you, volunteers- we literally couldn’t do this without you!
