🌞 Happy Summer Solstice!

Every year, thousands of people gather at Stonehenge to mark the summer solstice and watch the sunrise align with this remarkable ancient monument. Built more than 4,500 years ago by Neolithic farming communities, Stonehenge was carefully designed to reflect the movement of the sun, demonstrating an impressive understanding of astronomy and the seasons.

Although Stonehenge predates the Druids by around 2,000 years, it has become an important spiritual site for many modern Druids and Pagans, who celebrate the solstice as a time of connection with nature, renewal and community.

Today, Stonehenge remains a powerful symbol of Britain's ancient past, bringing together people of all backgrounds to celebrate history, culture and the wonder of the natural world.

Today, Sunday 31st May, many Christians celebrate the Feast of the Holy Trinity. This special day reflects on the belief in one God in three persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and appreciate the mystery and unity at the heart of Christian faith.

Today (or this week, depending on observance) marks the Ascension of Bahá’u’lláh, a significant holy day in the Bahá’í Faith. It commemorates the passing of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith, in 1892. Bahá’ís believe Bahá’u’lláh brought teachings focused on the unity of humanity, equality, peace, and the harmony of science and religion.
The day is observed with:
• Quiet reflection and prayer
• Readings from Bahá’í writings
• Community gatherings, often held in the early hours of the morning (around 3am), marking the time of his passing

🎆 Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating Eid al‑Adha in the UK and around the world 🎉

Eid al-Adha began yesterday, marking one of the most important festivals in the Islamic calendar.

Also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, Eid al-Adha commemorates the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice for his faith. It is a time centred on reflection, charity, and community.

Muslims around the world observe the occasion by:
• Gathering for special prayers
• Sharing meals with family, friends, and neighbours
• Giving to those in need, ensuring everyone can take part in the celebrations
