Today, Sunday 31st May, many Christians celebrate the Feast of the Holy Trinity. This special day reflects on the belief in one God in three persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and appreciate the mystery and unity at the heart of Christian faith.

Today (or this week, depending on observance) marks the Ascension of Bahá’u’lláh, a significant holy day in the Bahá’í Faith. It commemorates the passing of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith, in 1892. Bahá’ís believe Bahá’u’lláh brought teachings focused on the unity of humanity, equality, peace, and the harmony of science and religion.
The day is observed with:
• Quiet reflection and prayer
• Readings from Bahá’í writings
• Community gatherings, often held in the early hours of the morning (around 3am), marking the time of his passing

🎆 Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating Eid al‑Adha in the UK and around the world 🎉

Eid al-Adha began yesterday, marking one of the most important festivals in the Islamic calendar.

Also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, Eid al-Adha commemorates the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice for his faith. It is a time centred on reflection, charity, and community.

Muslims around the world observe the occasion by:
• Gathering for special prayers
• Sharing meals with family, friends, and neighbours
• Giving to those in need, ensuring everyone can take part in the celebrations

Shavuot, or the Feast of Weeks, is a major Jewish holiday celebrated exactly seven weeks after Passover. It marks two major milestones: the agricultural celebration of the wheat harvest and the spiritual commemoration of the day God gave the Torah to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai. Traditions include dairy meals, staying up all night to study, and reading the Book of Ruth.

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

This week shines a light on the importance of mental health and wellbeing for us all. It’s a time to start conversations, offer support, and remind ourselves that it’s okay not to be okay.

We’re also recognising the amazing work of Mind, a leading UK mental health charity. Mind provides advice, support, and services to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness, and ensure no one has to face mental health challenges alone. If you or someone you know needs support, you can find helpful resources and information on the Mind website.

Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) runs from 11 to 17 May 2026. Get involved and help us make sure no mind is left behind.
